I used to read these books all the time. For those of you that dont know what I am talking about, its like this. There is a picture with a bunch of little people, and you have to find this one guy. He wears a red and white striped suit. Here, its like this...

We have all those Waldo books. Thanks for the online version, MacAztec. I found Waldo after a minute, but he's a bit less cute than I remember from the printed version.

I used to have a few such books as well. When I was younger they had it on TV. I could not find Waldo one single time on the TV versions, and it took me more time than allowed from the flash file to find Waldo through the book versions.
I am a poor player at that time of thing. That's why I downloaded the flash file directly and pause the playtime so I had the entire day to try and find him. Still no luck.

Wouldn't it be a great challenge to write recognition software that could find Waldo in an image like those Martin Handford draws for his books? It would be a variation on the facial recognition software that is getting better all the time. I think this would make a good university research project. Anyone trying to earn a Ph.D.?
