View Full Version : Wireless router for Wii?

I'm going to need a wireless router to get internet access when I get a Wii, so what should I get? After x-mas I'm getting an iMac, which would be in the other corner of the room from the Wii. Should I plug my cable line into the router, and then my iMac and the Wii will get reception? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I've never used a router before. :)
So,
What should I buy? & Is what I think I do correct?

you should be able to share the connection with the wii by sharing the connection from the imac through airport.

airport express.
works wonderfully with all our macs, my DS Lite and my 360. I'm sure it'll work just as well with my wii and ps3 ;) :D

Thanks for the responses. :)
I think I'll go with the Airport Express.
One more question:
How much stuff can the Express handle? Could it handle an iMac, a MB, a DS, and a Wii?

It can easily handle all of that. Unless you have a lot of network traffic (read copying files over the network, not internet) then you can have a good number of wireless devices on even the cheapest of wireless routers. If you can wire them then do though. I try to make sure my desktops are always wired (i.e. that's where the router is).

The Express can handle 10 clients at once.
I do have a question though: can the Wii handle WPA/WPA2? Or is it WEP-only like the DS?
