Well at least for a thousand people it will be!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/holiday.html//ref=cu_vo_gw_wa/104-2519559-7283113?ie=UTF8&id=cv%2Fhomepage
Of course one would still need to buy Harddrive/Memory card, and likely Wi-Fi, which would push it up to 300 still it would be a good deal.!
(This was earlier report as possible happening, well this is amazon saying 360 won the voting to be on sale)

I prefer the deal that puts a console on par with both £179 and £450 consoles, and an £80 DS. BUILT IN WIFI.

Whilst not 'cheap', this deal from Blockbuster is certainly the best value for money deal I've seen going on this holiday:
-Xbox 360 Premium
-Tom Clancy Splinter Cell: Double Agent
-Pro Evolution Soccer 6
-Gears Of War
-Project Gotham Racing 3
...all for £349.99. Pretty good if you ask me.

I think it's pretty much the same, apart from I'm sure the Xtravision has an extra controller bundled in too  .
The only other deal that could potentially beat it for value for money at the moment I think is the Play.com deal where you get a premium 360 and Gears of War for 269.99.

Good luck finger! Pity the brain doesn't know about Opera :p
Just kidding mate. but if memory serves there is an auto-refresh timer thing built into it. Might save a finger muscle or 2!

Yeah but would you trust it? They don't usually support refresh times of milliseconds anyway. Seconds can be way too long!! :p

So, what are the odds that Amazon's site gets hammered tomorrow?

Amazon.co.uk started erroring yesterday when 2200 Wiis were presold in 2 minutes. Amazon.com's selling 1000 Xbox's and will probably sell out in 1 second!! I hope they have good servers!!

Eh, I wouldn;t trust something like this to a computer program. Sure, computers can do things like launch rockets and operate satellites in space but none of that is as important as my $100 360! :D
( I know I won't get it but at least I can try! )

I'm gonna try and get my dad to buy me one, and I just pay him back when I get paid next week, that way, I can at least try to save 200...
Though I'd probably take it to my job and see if they'd let me then trade it up for a Premium 360. :D

Heh. Its 10:54am and I've been refreshing for the past half an hour. The page is starting to get reallllly slow and refreshes are taking longer and longer. Don't know how long amazon's servers are going to hold up, if it all.
Actually I just hit refresh and the screen went white. Uh Oh. It just took a full 30 seconds to reload the page. 6 minutes to go!

I gave it a try. A page refresh took several minutes, I had six windows open all timed slightly differently and they sold out. Didn't even have the chance to click on a button!

Well it still says "Come back Thursday at 11 a.m. PST to get these deals." so I'm going to go with that. Anyway its 11:03 and the pages have stopped responding...

Eh. Oh well. Both Safari and Firfox have refused to refresh for the last 5 or 6 minutes. Now I'm curious how many people were at the site. I wonder if Amazon will post something like that...

Their site is still gettin owned. I refreshed at exactly 1:00, it took a few seconds to come up. I click the get this deal button, I expected it to ask for my password since it said it would, but since I was logged in it didnt.
Since I was expecting that, I clicked the first yellow button I saw. Luckily the site was getting hammered, because it was actually the question page. So I had to answer the question quickly (15+2) and then check the agree to terms and click the yellow button again.... It was intense....

I tried to get an xbox 360 from amazon.com today for 100 buks and the site was so clogged up and slow. I had three different web browsers open for the site and tried to refresh all of them and it took over 5 mins to refresh. By the time the page loaded, they were sold out. How lame.

Well since you had 3 web browsers open, chances are millions of other people had that(or used tabs) and that lead to TONS of hits on amazon.

The people posting on the forums attatched to the offer are going mad. Its as if they all think they deserved that offer and were supposed to get it. I agree with them that they should have done a lottery type method that went live an hour before the draw, maybe limiting each IP address and account to one entry - maybe the user should remain logged in the whole time from registration start to draw time. The people on there though are going crazy:
"they are a P.O.S"
"Man, Amazon is just pissing me off more and more."
"yeah I will look everywhere before I make another purchase with amazon after this. This was a complete fraud."
"this isint fair i have a 25Mbit download and a 6Mbit upload provided by Verizon"
"Amazon is starting to seriously piss me off. What ^%*#%*&$#*&#^ mofo of a marketing director did these retards hire?! WTF Amazon."

That was pretty disappointing of Amazon to do that sale.

amazon.com, the largest online retailer (i think?) had to know this sale would leave to a HUGE server load.
and yet, they werent prepared.
so what, I didnt get one either, im ONLY mad at Amazon.com for being SO big and yet so UNprepared for their own sale.
It reeks of people who werent in it for the machine, but to get their stocks back up for cheap.
who knows, I guess its just the bitterness of the cranberry sauce.

That was pretty disappointing of Amazon to do that sale.Well, I'm disappointed that I couldn't get a 360 for $100, but I'm not pissed off about it.
I do think it would be nice for Amazon to offer this special again... if they were just doing this as a loss leader (to drive traffic and publicity), then I ain't real happy about that, but if they actually could sell 360s at that price and not lose money, then I think they should do it again.

Same thing happened to me. Pretty lame. Makes you wonder if they really had 1,000 or if it was just a marketing ploy to get their name floating around.

They probably did it to clear stock, as the Core 360 hardly sells. Everyone just pops for the Premium, since with the Core, you'd have to buy the hard disk anyway to get the full 360.
Core + 20GB HDD = $400.
Premium 360 with 20GB HDD included = $400.
Premium comes with the component cables, the headset, the ethernet cable, wireless instead of wired controller, and the chrome trim and fit.
I'm not pissed off about it, just sorta disappointed, as I wanted to get a 360, but dont really have the money.
Well, at least I wont have to pay my dad back for it. I was gonna get the Core, find some store that would allow me to trade it up for a Premium, and then buy me the VGA cables.

I don't get it IN canada where the price has always been 100$ more correct? the Core is 399.99 and the premium has always been 499.99. So why is this a good deal? hasn't the core always been 299?

I postponed my thanksgiving dinner for this, and I had two pages going to refresh, one at 11 and one at 11:01 (1 and 1:01 my time). The one page got a safari failed to load after a few minutes, and by the time they both did load, it said that the item was sold out at that price.

They were having an limited offer of 1000 units of the core system for $100 total.
