Football Manager, easily. Nothing else has me cheering when a round blob goes past some other round blobs and into a cross-hatched area of the screen. The graphics are pants, there's no sound to speak of, and sometimes all you can do is watch, yet it's fiendishly addictive and you get totally engrossed.

Sure there maybe a few good games on this list (hell they may all be great) but come on how can anyone have a poll for the best game ever? There have been computer games since the late 60s and no one can honestly think they can pick 10 of them and that would be the top 10 ever.

Much to hard to get all good games in one poll. I'd say narrow it down with polls for best of each console/handheld/PC/Mac plus a poll for games that are multiplaform(releases on xBox live or Virtual console don't count, a game like Mario 64 would still fall under N64poll), then take the winners and put them into one poll.

Well most of my game listed cover those systems, but it's not fair on the OP. There is no way he can cover all these in fairness to him/her....

I voted on his new poll and I think we should leave it.

No doubt more games will come to mind that are great.. I forgot to add Bonk PC.Engine and Grim Fandango (PC) for example to that list.. It will expand into forever if we continue.

20 odd years of gaming.. What's scary is bar 1 or 2, i've actually played all of them... :D

I can't forget Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, Rainbox Six and the early Quake (TF, CTF). Nice choices, I chose Quake 4 out of the bunch.
