Newsworthy to WoW fans:

A podcast featuring an interview with Richard Bartle, inventor of MUD, the first text-based virtual world and direct forerunner to the modern-day MMORPGs such as WoW, has been posted here (http://nearthwort.com/2006/11/25/nearthwort-podcast-2-mmorpg-pioneer-richard-bartle/). Richard shares lots of interesting thoughts on the differences between text- and graphics-based games (mainly WoW).

We were notified of this podcast and felt that many of you might be interested in it.

That is interesting. I'm not quite a WoW fan, but I do play the game maybe once or twice a week for a bit.

Hope you all enjoy it :)

We were pretty excited to secure Richard for an interview. As you'll see if you listen to the show, his work from the 70s and 80s has had quite an impact on the development of today's MMORPGs.
