I've narrowed my search down to a 12" iBook G3 500mhz. I am only interested in this model. The iBook needs to work for the most part, but condition and things like dead optical drive don't matter. I don't need an airport card, but if you have one to include for a good price, I'll consider.
I am looking to get a good deal. OWC currently has these with 320MB RAM, 10GB HD, Airport Card, and dead optical drive for $199, so keep that in mind.
Let me know if you have anything,
Ryan

If you end up going with the $199s, I've got gobs of cdrom drives for ya!

Ok, was thinking about going with that and selling the airport card, but they have those ugly security tags, and they're from an office so they're probably really beat up. I also can't see a picture of the exact one I'm getting. Therefore, I would rather buy one from someone on here.

Get the iBook from OWC
And buy This (http://cgi.ebay.com/G4-iBOOK-SOLID-WHITE-12-TOP-CASE-PLASTIC-BACK-COVER_W0QQitemZ140061695710QQihZ004QQcategoryZ4602QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). I believe the G4 is identical (screw / bolt pattern) as the G3 iBooks.

I'm pretty sure they're direct bolt on too. Color won't match, but I guess that's OK.
I would like to see what I can get here before I go with OWC.

That is just an example
You can find G3 plastic on ebay all the time.

I actually have that piece in my parts box anyway, so that's not an issue. I would just rather buy on here and see what I'm getting/talk to the person instead of buying one from a large lot like OWC has.

I understand, and would do the same!
Not debating that issue one bit :) . The nice thing about OWC is the warranty they appear to offer, however I have no idea how credible it is !
