i just noticed that when i white person gets in front Photo Booth the different color effects work perfectly. but when a dark skin person gets in front of photo booth, its too dark to see their face.

photobooth is too primitive for my tastes

It's clearly not racist, as it is not discriminating between the lighter and darker faces. Therefore, it is clearly treating everyone equally. The problem is that the results of the program are not desirable for people of color. Therefore, the only solution would seem to be two separate programs, one for light skinned persons and another for darker skinned persons. A policy of separate but equal is clearly called for here. :p

to be racist, wouldn't photobooth need to be able to think on its own?

If it didn't open at all for people with darker skin, then it'd be racist app.

Photobooth isn't racist, you're lighting is. In film, you need different lighting for different skin tones.

Actually, you don't need different lighting...you need different exposure. Technically he's correct, this could be a problem. If there's no setting in Photobooth to say "Hey, I'm dark skinned, calculate exposure based on that." then Apple screwed up. It's independent of lighting if the exposure of the camera is determined by skin tone.

Actually I'm betting its just like most cams out there- calibrated on around 18% gray for optimal exposure.

Having several "persons of color" (why can't we just say black people, we all know thats what we are talking about. What's racist about that?) use my computer I know it is racist. One time a black guy walked into my room, and everything on my HDD automatically backed up and firewall went up. Even more disturbing, when he came closer to my computer, I clearly heard a distinct, "Ugh."

So what's the moral? Apple being racist is clearly a retarded notion. Now stop being so PC :D .

Not every person of color is black.

They should have an option when the app is started so you can specify if you caucasian, mongoloid or negrescent. That way it will be able to do the necessary colour calibration and match your colour properly.

Not every person of color is black.

I realize that, but why can't a person use the word black, hispanic, or creme brule to describe skin color (or ethnicities). But given the conversation, and the circumstances, I would assume the person to be somewhere between between "burned hazel" and "midnight dark." I am using paint swatches. I consider both these tones to be black, and its true these tones don't always show up well, so I assume this person calling Mac racist, is referring to black people.

I have heard that Mac has been racist against Dell, including (unconfirmed) on a Fedex delivery, the Mac forced the Dell to the back of the truck.

"im not racist, i just hate all people of any ethnicity other than mine"
