I have a 7300GT that I pulled from my "old" Mac Pro that I no longer have. Works beautifully in a PC as well and drives a 30" display. Lookin for $60 shipped, PM me or email me at moviecutter (at) mac (dot) com.

would this be faster than having 2 displays (23 & 20) hooked up to the 7300GT I have in my mac pro, IOW hook a separate display up to a different card. Worthwhile or makes no difference?

Not sure. I always thought if you have two displays hooked up to one GPU, that the GPU power is divided, versus having one display on one card and one display on the other.

On a 7300GT, the screen redraws and Quartz Extreme as well as Core Image will be much faster when it isnt driving two displays at once.

I'd go with two 7300s.

Plus then, if you ever plan to do Windows, the two together will make a nice mid-range SLI setup, which will whip the pants off of a comparable 7600GT. :D

Sorry, I'd like to stick to at least a little more than 1/3 what Apple is asking. Cmon people, it's 60% off for cryin' out loud.
