Man, I had a BUNCH of 2600 games... I guess my faves were Space Shuttle, River Raid, Defender, Decathlon, both Pitfall games (which I had perfect scores on), and Enduro... really, Activision was the best producer of 2600 games.
BTW, I had possibly the world's highest scores in Decathlon, because I found a trick to playing the game. Normally, you'd run/get power/whatever by moving the joystick left to right to left as quickly as you could... and with a joystick (particularly those POS joysticks we had back then), there's a limit to how fast you can go back-and-forth. But I also had an Atari 2600 trakball... and with that, if you put your hand on the trakball and jittered your hand, you could get incredible speed because it was more of an optical process than a mechanical process.

What a tough question...
Adventure, Berzerk, Dragon Stomper, Megamania, Beany Bopper, Bank Heist, Fast Eddie, Circus Atari, Dodge Em, Spacemaster X-7, Stampede, Turmoil, Stuntman, Yars Revenge, Warlords, Synthcart. :D
Really just about any Activision game is a favorite of mine. I love my Atari 2600, it's one of my all time favorite systems next to the NES and Sega Genesis.

I do. ;)Heh. Foxglove said "I do" to me. :p
FWIW, I have that "Atari Anthology" Xbox game, and it works on the 360... and playing some of those old games, I see now how far we've come. Coolness is obviously relative to what you've already experienced.

I remember playing a few of my Atari favorites when I was younger. I remember watching my brother play Baseball. I'd always play Pac-Man, Pinball, E.T. & Superman (even though I had no Idea what I was doing.) Also Warlords - my Mom would even play that with me sometimes.
I don't remember many other games but, I go tons of them when I got older (only a few years back) Some of the Star Wars games were pretty fun, I liked Jedi Arena and The Empire Strikes Back.
Yar's Revenge was also fun, and so was Combat! That's what I forgot - Combat. Me and my brothers would play against each other, that was a lot of fun :) Ah those were the days :D

Count me in that .1% as well. Works like a charm, and I agree with Foxglove, it definitely is one of my favorite systems of all time. :)
Favorite games: Beamrider, Warlords (best multiplayer game EVER), Kaboom!, Atari Circus, Super Breakout, Pitfall 2, Pressure Cooker, Surround, Pacman Jr., Space Invaders, River Raid, Galaxian, Video Olympics, Maze Craze, Starmaster.

Adventure still is my favorite Atari 2600 game. There are some fun hacks of Adventure for emulators.
Love Superman, Haunted House, E.T. and Raiders (yes, they were goofy and difficult, but I still liked them), Ms. Pac-Man....
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but hey, I've got ALL of them with Stella. ;)

I have two original 2600 machines and an 2600 Jr that work fine. One of the unit's Reset Game switch has broken off but a pencil does the trick :p They may be a bit finicky to get to work right sometimes but, they work. ;)
It's fun to hook up the old system for some good times but, luckily with things like the Atari Flashback 2.0 system and the Atari/Activison Collections for consoles and computers it's easy to find and play your old favorites. :) :D

The one I got for Jr. High School Graduation in 1979 still works fine.
Oh, and I forgot the 3rd party ones:
Demon Attack, Atlantis, Chopper Command, Star Master

Escape From The Mindmaster
and the dungeon one (forgot the name already).

Megamania, Cosmic Ark, Maze Craze, River Raid, Enduro, Raiders of the Lost Ark and a few more I can't think of.
As far as I know, my original 2600 still works (haven't tried it in several years). I've also got about 6 others that I picked up from thrift stores -- no idea if any of those work.

Yup, I follow the scene pretty closely. You can find me on the Atari Age boards often, though I do more lurking than posting lately.

Kaboom! (http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=257) was my favorite 2600 game, also by Activision. But I also loved Adventure, Pitfall!, Tutankham, Chopper Command, and Space Invaders. Combat and Indy 500 were IMO the best multiplayer games, despite their crude graphics. My brothers and I wasted many many hours on those ones.
Anyway, I think the Colecovision was far superior to the 2600 and had a lot more good games for it (mostly arcade ports, but they looked pretty good on the coleco, unlike how poorly most 2600 arcade ports were). So many of the 2600 games just flat out sucked.

Pong (simple, yet satisfying), Night Driver, centipede, pitfall, and some kind of tank game - can't remember it's name.
Don't they sell some kind of joystick with a bunch of the games in it now?

Kaboom! (http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=257) was my favorite 2600 game,
I picked up this game used, when I got myself another 2600 system..
I have to say it's one of the most fun, action packed games for sure... excellent to play against your mates. any game with bombs in it has to be good!
did any1 play Bezerk much?
