Up for trade only is a MacBook Core Duo 2.0GHz, 80GB HD, 2GB RAM, and a $500 dollar accidental care warranty, basically if you drop it, accidentally poor water on it, whatever, it get's fixed. Would like to trade for a MacBook Pro 15"
Specs preferred:
Intel Core 2 Duo or Core Duo 2.16GHz
1.5-2GB RAM
100+GB HD
256MB graphics card, 128 is fine, but 256MB preferably.
15" only
My part of the trade would include the MacBook itself, the warranty & papers, original box & cds, and possibly some cash depending on the item.
Post what you have if your interested.
BTW,
Please do not trash or crap my thread ~ only for those who are interested.
Reason for wanting to ged rid of her is because I do a lot of Aperture work, and I need a better graphics card - the graphics card this has (Intel 950GMA, 64MB) is great, but not for intense Apps like Final Cut Pro & Aperture. This MacBook would be perfect for me if it had a better graphics card -- most people don't need that.

Who is the $500 through? I thought AppleCare was like $250 and covered all of that? I'm interested...just need to know about the $500 warranty?

Goes through CompUSA.
Apple's doesn't cover accidental coverage.
CompUSA's does - for 3 years you get a battery replacement if needed, screen replacements, accidental damage, all of it.

I didn't think you'd have that MacBook long, and people yell at me for going through Macs?
Anyways, good luck, I'm fancying a MacBook Pro myself because I miss my 15" PowerBook dearly but I doubt that'll happen.

Glossy or Matte?
Any real pics of the machine? Condition good? Any issues? Seller references?
I have a 15" MBP CD 2.0, 2GB, 160GB HDD that I would consider trading...not entirely sure yet, though.

Conditions great. Right now, there is a problem with the hinge (makes a noise) but is going to be fixed by CompUSA when I get a chance to take it in. Other than that thing that really isn't an issue, it's perfect!
EDIT:
Kingjr3 - EXTREMELY interested. How old is it?
and, any heat problems? um.. grahpics memory?
EDIT 2:
Pics soon, and the hinge problem was like that when I got it; just been very busy and haven't been able to give my computer up for something that is a minor issue.

i have 15" MBP.
2.0 Ghz
1Gb RAM
256 Mb VRAM
100 Gb HD
Had no problems with it since i had it. Only thing about it i can think of is the uneven lighting of the screen on the right side of the display, i don't think it is bad at all. i don't mind downgrading as i am looking to add a tower and want something smaller right now.
it is from the initial release last year. i believe i got it around may. Where are you located, I am in Los Angeles.

It was bought new in June. It runs a tad warmer under load, but I use smcFancontrol and that keeps it around 41C at 3000 RPM. It has 128MB VRAM and the only issue that I can see is that when the top is closed, the left side of the lid sits a little higher than the right. I would estimate the gap at maybe 1/16 - 1/8"
FYI, I installed my own HDD upgrade and RAM as well.

To me, I don't notice any. Obviously it is subjective. If you are close to me, perhaps we could meet and geek out and swap if we think its a good deal.

I think you might do better if you just sell your MacBook on eBay and buy one of the refurb MBP's.

its not bad at all, i can take a picture of it if you are really serious about it. it actually goes away when i plug it in, i was thinking of brining it to the apple store for a diagnosis. I am from IL but i live in california right now. where in illinois are you? i have family in chicago, i may visit them in january but am not sure yet.
yeah, if you are serious, i can ship my MBP to my cousin have him bring it to your house so both of you can check the goods and have him swap it for us. i was kind of hoping you were in california :(

I work for CompUSA, and I can tell you no such warranty exists. Whoever told you it covers all accidental damage is full of it. We do offer an upgrade on top of the $250 AppleCare, you can get the total screen protection for an additional $350. Almost all of our plans do not cover any kind of accidental damage. It is a common thing for salespeople (not me, I am honest) to say whatever it takes to get you to buy the protection plan. It is still better then just having Applecare by itself though. I don't mean to offend the seller in anyway, as it is not his fault he was lied to about the amount of coverage. Good luck with the sale.
Happy Holidays
