Well, the USB ports on my 2005FPW just failed, so Dell is replacing it. I love the monitor, but I figure if I'm going to sell it I should sell a factory fresh version. So anyways, this thread is strictly a feeler but what would the going rate be for a factory fresh panel? It would come with original box and packaging, DVI and VGA cable, Power cable, manual, and CD. The warranty is valid until 11/15/2008 and would be fully transferrable to the buyer. Please don't try to lowball me on the basis that that 2007FPW is out now, because we all know the issues that model has had. Also, I know from experience that ground shipping for this bad boy runs about $16, so keep that in mind.
So, what's it worth?
EDIT: Also, I'm always interested in a cool trade, if you think you have something good my ears are always open!

Based on Ebay prices, maybe $325 - $350. Hope this gives you an idea.

What sorts of things would you consider to be "cool trades?" I have all sorts of things that I think are cool, but that doesn't mean you would be interested at all. :p

For the 2005fpw don't expect > $300 imho. You can check ebay completed auctions to see the sold range from $157 to $355 and only two really only sold over $300.
How much is it to ship something like this to say 92618? I've been wanting a 30 ACD but I can't justify the money considering I'm looking into a mac pro or powermac from another thread. I have the 2005fpw wall mounted that wouldn't mind a brother.

most listings i've seen on ebay are buy it now 250.. 50 to ship..
the shipping is wrong.. but expect to sell it for about 300 shipped or less.

And by the way, lilfordbmx wasn't a newbie-like post. In fact, it was right on the nose imo. It doesn't matter how the cost/shipping breaks down. $300 shipped sounds about right for this. But the OP sure did give a newbie-like response.
Of course, keep in mind that you're not getting a brand new monitor. You're getting a refurbished one.

well, all i have to say is pretty much what the person above said.
i was simply stating that he should expect to get about 300 shipped.
was your post necessary at all?
and i'm sorry, this post isn't necessary as well. sorry.. free bump i suppose.

How is the cost of shipping not applicable? Do you think I should get $300 for it regardless of whether I sell it to my roommate or have to send it to Guam? Sorry, but I always negotiate price first, then actual shipping.
And by the way, yes that was a newbish post, and while I may have jumped on him, I have issue listening to some 16 year old high school kid

I dunno, but i agree with the newb. 300 shipped is fair. on the internet alot of deals say 300 shipped within the US, shipping in the US can be drastically different depending on location. regardless of his post, you shouldn't react like that. Good luck with the sale, dell had a deal on the Newer revision for 239 last week. or it may be on right now..

Seriously? Are you seriously upset at him for saying that you can expect $300 shipped based off his research? Seriously! You didn't even bother doing your own research to even give a starting point for your feeler and you're upset when someone else comes in with some logic? I think $300 shipped is a fine price. I'll say $200 shipped. ™™™™™™ Just in case there was any confusion ™. :) When are you putting it up for sale?™

Nope, just a little perturbed at the his suggesting I value shipping as $50 (rather exorbitant in my mind).
When are you putting it up for sale?
Not sure if I want to sell it, just scouting current MR value.

He wasn't saying that shipping is valued at $50. He was saying that on eBay, the seller charge rediculous shipping rates to make the bid amount seem less. He even went on to say that the shipping was "wrong".
Regardless, most for sale threads here ddon't take into account actual shipping. Rather the seller states a shipped price and buyers take him up. Whether the buyer is 10 minutes or 10 states away makes no difference. You may choose to handle it differently but I would say that stating a shipped price is the norm.

I think you may have misunderstood what he was saying. He was suggesting that the ebay auction's final price wasn't entirely representative of what you should charge since the buyers make up for the lower final auction prices with the exorbitant shipping charges.
His suggestion was that the total cost of the monitor shipped should be around $300... whether you break that up into a realistic $285 for the monitor and $15 for shipping or $150 for the monitor and $150 for shipping doesn't really matter to the buyer as they will pay the same in the end.
Back on topic... are you sure dell will replace your monitor with the 2005 model or is it possible that they will ship you a 2007 instead? I'm just curious what dell's repair policy is.
EDIT: Topgun said what I was trying to say much quicker. I think I need to work on drafting speedier replies.
