I'm looking to buy a new fps and i've boiled it down to these two. Which do you recommend and why? Are they very different types of games?

UT04 - more gametypes, and you can run it on OSX :)

Half life2 and everything that comes with it, Source,Lost Coast, Deathmatch, etc. Thats if you are going to use Xp if not then UT2k4

bf2 if you like war games, but even then you should probably get bf2142. ut2k4 if you just want to run around fraggiing people

BF2, its top notch, its a lot of fun with friends. Don't get bf2142 that is the worst game ever made, ea has sold and put ads in a game that you must buy. but if you don't have windows then get UT.
