Excite Truck 9.0 - I just got done playing Excite Truck for the last 4 hours and it is the best 2 player game and the second best game after Zelda that I have played for the Wii! At first it was underwelming because in multiplayer you are limited to 3 trucks and 4 courses but once you win a few rounds in 1 player many more trucks and courses are unlocked. The sheer speed is amazing on this game (I actually don't think I have played a racing game that seems so fast) and the points system does alot to add to the challenge. Getting first place in a race isn't enough to win... You can score points by drifting, getting air, making it through the trees unscathed and even for good crashes. Graphically, the game is acceptable (Xbox level?) and the special effects add to the overall experience alot. The music is super cheezy synthesized metal but if you have an SD card you can replace it with your MP3s so it isn't so bad. I see alot of complaints about the replay value of Excite Truck by professional reviewer but they must be better gamers than me because after the gold level tracks it becomes very difficult to get an C on the tracks much less an S (Supurb) rating. There are at least 9 trucks to get an probably 20-30 tracks across 5 locations so there is plenty to do in the single player. If you have a friend to play with Excite Truck is really fun and really competative.

For anyone who likes arade racing games like wave race, burnout, etc. this is highly recommended! Overall this game is a great buy and if Excite Truck 2 improves on this one it will be an instant cult classic just like this one is sure to be. After playing this game for a while, I think any negative reviews by professional reviewers are really unfounded. Although, I do wish they had top and bottom views for multiplayer instead of side by side, but that is such a small thing I can't take off much for it...

Besides my earlier review of RedSteel (7.0), Wii Sports (8.8), and NFS Carbon (7.0), I plan on reviewing Rayman Raving Rabbids (which I rented) and Zelda (which I own) next. Next week, I will rent COD3 and Madden 07 and let you know what I think about them too...
