Did you get a new iPod for christmas, but want to use your own headphones? Is there a package of them lying around with the other useless christmas junk? :)

Send me a PM with your price and a picture of them if you can, so I can verify they are the new style ones. Thanks!

I have a pair of the new ones-they came with my 8gb nano. I don't remember if I have ever used them, but I can get pics tomorrow if you want. 20 shipped?

Edit: I also should def have a pair that came with my shuffle, but those are in Boston and I cannot ship them until January 10..but will do it if you are game.

I didn't actually look, but it's the new aluminum one, so I'm sure that it does have the new headphones.

I just got a pair for xmas to replace my original 3 year old ones that came with me 3G iPod.
Wow are they good, the bass is much better and the highs are clearer...
I am really happy
highly recommended...

No it doesn't. Just bought two for two kids and both kids got the new style ear buds.

Some of the early runs did, the newer runs don't.

I guess they wanted to use up their old stock. I know the one my friend bought had the old ones, and he bought it when it came out, and another friend who bought one got the new style earbuds.

Officially, the 2G shuffle is spec'd by Apple as coming with the old earbuds, if you got new ones, consider yourself a lucky error :D

I know 2 friends with shuffles, as well as 2 relatives who just got them this week who both have the old style earbuds.

Arstechnica confirms, as did MacAddict and Macworld in their reviews which I don't feel like pulling up right now.


Yes, you read that right. Pads for the earbuds. You may remember that the new headphones that Steve Jobs announced at the "It's Showtime" event no longer come with pads, and we confirmed that when we did our review of the second-generation iPod nano. For some inexplicable reason, the 2G shuffle comes with the old earbuds. Some users have speculated that the old earbuds have a better bass response than the new earbuds, which is easily compensated for by the EQ settings on the iPod nano or full-size iPod, but not on the EQ-less shuffle. I prefer the new earbuds to the old, which I don't find to be as comfortable.
