I've got to say i'm terribly dissapointed in our young padawin RaggedJimmi.
As one of the loudest advocates, championing the Wii cause he still is yet to deal with the exotic delights of Wii'ing :)
So if your as dissapointed please leave some words of badgering :D
Come on Jimmi its 2007 already;)

Still drunk from new years I see :p
Off into town tomorrow. I won't get one. I'd bet on it! Still I've got a nice game and controller collection building up :D 3 Wii controllers, 2 extra nunchucks, 3x2gb memory cards.
I'll trade my nunchucks for a Wii console :p
or! If anyone in the UK is selling one for no reason at all I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands. but not for eBay prices :p
too many :p 's

Im as sober as an irishman. oh wait ;)
I even hear that Myamoto himself is dissatisfied with your quest for a Wii, so no more excuses young man, we want to see that wii code by the end of the week, otherwise we'll have to take back the fan club badge :D

It's funny... I could order a Wii development kit from NoE right this minute but I can't get hold of one in virtually the whole north west of England.
Wonder if they can play released games :p

Well as said previously Jimmi, I've still got 2 pre-orders sat waiting to be filled (I'm now number 3 on the list in Currys, and number 1 at Gamestation FWIW) and as soon as they come in I'll get you sorted out if you like :) Be aware the cost might be a bit more than retail (paypal charges and postage) but if it's spare, it's yours.
EDIT: IF you're going in town tomorrow check GAME around opening time as their deliveries come in at crack of dawn, and at least our local store has completely filled pre-orders now, Virgin Megastores at the start of the day, they may not have them then but they always know what's coming, and Gamestation if you have one as most of them are starting to complete pre-orders now (my more local one has but wont take pre-orders)

Yea, thanks for all this :) I'll make a celebratory post (probably from my Wii too!) in this thread if my Play.com order arrives just to let you know. Chances are with Play.com, who knows how long I'll be waiting? And yea I'm fine with the Paypal charges and that. It's just them eBay ones going for 400-500 quid that I'm absolutely avoiding. Few quid extra won't hurt. Especially since HMV undercharged me for a Nunchuck, it'd be like Karma restoring itself.

Jimmi, try Woolworths if you can. I saw one in the Brighton store a couple of days ago and they're the only store I've been into that ever has any wiimotes in stock and it has those every time. Nunchucks and classic controllers too. I would pick it up for you if its still there but my guess is that shipping it via Royal Mail Special delivery would probably cost about £30. :(
Edit: Just thought I'd add that last night I had a few people around for new year celebrations, half of who were non-gaming girls (my gf and her friends) and they were all *loving* the wii. It really is a great social machine as well as a great single player machine. I'm so glad I picked up the three extra wiimotes! I also picked up a component cable to use on my flatmate's plasma screen. The picture looks amazing, I just wish they'd used a bit of antialiasing since the jaggies are way more obvious.

Personally I couldn't as I've not got the commercial credentials, but the guys at my university have commercial success. It's a drawn out way, and it'd cost more but the possibilities are greater and at the moment seems to be the only realistic way I'll get one of the buggers.

I'm in a same boat as Jimmi, most of my friends all assumed that I have one already. But I got too frustrated trying to find a Wii, so I just bought a 360 instead.
I still want a Wii though, but I can wait longer until stores get more shipments in. My next date to check is Monday. The good thing is there aren't too many new games coming out that I want so I won't be missing much. :)

I think I have decided (After 2 weeks of trying) today that I don't want one.
Dunno why, but me and the GF have decided to get DSes, so we can play BBA, which will be fun.
Good Luck getting yours. :D

Come on Jimmi, don't give up. I'd almost given up hope of finding one until spring when I just happened to read the right website at the right time. The store I went to had 18 of them. You'll get it soon enough and then you'll be able to port SS2 to the Wii. :)

Phah. Forget camping out, hardcore is that I got in on not one but both of Amazon's pre-launch preorders (got cheap shipping on the second so cancelled the first, no hogging/profiteering here). I oughta be playing the lottery with luck like that.
Jimmi, good luck. It's worth it, and a real leap ahead in control...although the DBZ game is currently making me question that.

Awesome! That's great news! I hope you get it this time! Are you getting there early in the morning when the store opens to get it? If for some reason they haven't got them in then rush over to all other shops in town, starting with Woolworths!

Yeah but if they don't get their full delivery in then the reservation is worth squat until the 20th. That exact thing happened to loads of people who had reserved theirs for launch day.

Just a quick update. My friend had the day off and was looking for a Wii for herself and found them at the Toys R Us. She called me but I was working all day. So she bought one for herself, then came to my job and picked up my credit card, went back to Toys R Us to buy me one, then came back to my job to drop it off.
So yeah I now own a Wii !! Can't wait to hook it up later tonight. :D

Get breakfast. Got a buy one meal get one free voucher at Burger King which I'm going to spoil my mate with. home for midday. God I hope this works!

A break! My dad is watching TV now so the system is off. I swear to god. I need no 360 now, hell I think my DS is going to take a back seat. I just need this machine and 3-5 absolute killer titles and I am set. Zelda blew me away completely, I thought I knew what to expect but ruddy hell. It's so well animated, so epic, the music is memorable. Really enjoying this. Spent 2 hours playing so far - that just doesn't happen with me normally.
Wii Sports has become the most important gaming event in our family. Everyone is addicted. I like Tennis, bowling and boxing. Like? love. I've played that for 4 hours so far. Mii'ed the whole family, everyone laughing their heads off at how close to their human counterparts the caricatures looked. They just play so real, my real life bowling is mimicked in Wii Sports, my mum wins all the time, just as she wins in real life bowing too. Incredible how they've got it so precise.
Internet Channel works brilliant. Of bloody course it's no replacement for a computer, but the next best thing I've ever used. Runs at the same speed as my computer (maybe because it's just a 512kbps connection?).
Weather Channel? Nothing more needs to be said. It's addictive. The whole family shouting out random cities in random countries, it was great until my sister found the extra remote and it just became a laughing chaos.
I just find the built in software is so incredible. I never thought I would spend so much time and laugh so much making Mii's. Soon as Nintendo link up Nintendo Stars to Wii Points I will be on a virtual console heaven-athon.
I got 3 hours sleep last night too. Zzzzz

wii sports still is the most played title here, and I'll be buying wario ware next friday.

Hah, I could have picked up RS for £15 but I didn't :p it's a game I like but I wouldn't buy myself.
And WarioWare is out NEXT FRIDAY?! good god.
I think I really like this system more than most as I really didn't enjoy last gen gaming. Really was after a Wiimote-style device for all them years :o

Ha ha ha!
Excellent!
It's great to see you got your hands on one. Wii Sports is definitely the most popular at my house as well. The family just loves it. The Mii for my father-in-law looks so much like him it's scary. ;)
My favorite Wii Sport is tennis, followed closely by boxing. I just beat the boxing pro two days ago. :)
I think the greatest part of the Wii for me is the fact that I enjoy watching other people playing it as much as I enjoy playing it myself.
Again... Congrats!
Hope you're able to get some sleep!
