I remember reading some years back that toothpaste could repair minor scratches on LCD watches. Tried it and lo and behold they wuz right! Something about the ingredients in toothpaste that fills in the scratch and blends it away. Not sure if any brand or one that has extra fluoride would solve your problem but certainly wouldn't hurt. Rub a little bit into the scratch and hope that when u wipe it off presto chango the scratch is gone! How the hell did he scratch the lcd neway? I think if I had an iPod I'd care more about its safety then my own bodily safety.

If you want to work with something more volatile you could try the cleaner at this address:

iPod Cleaner (http://www.ipodcleaner.com/)

You could also check out some of the iPod protectants available.

iPod Cover (http://www.everythingipod.com/)
