They had got a Sega maybe a week back. They told me to show them Sonic. I played through the entire game in front of them. They woke up her brother, called over neighbors, etc...all to see me play Sonic 2 :) . Like I was some Rock Star...I was only so good because they're daughter could talk so dang much :D I'd like to play that game again as well...

They had got a Sega maybe a week back. They told me to show them Sonic. I played through the entire game in front of them. They woke up her brother, called over neighbors, etc...all to see me play Sonic 2 :) . Like I was some Rock Star...I was only so good because they're daughter could talk so dang much :D I'd like to play that game again as well...

haha! Lovely story.
My neighbours (since our whole street were Amiga addicts) used to call my the Whizz Kid. despite me being average at games... I just played lots of them! Always used cheats. I actually saw an old neighbour whilst out walking the dog, he asked "you've got to be doing something involving games... right?" :D
I've got a story about how gaming actually did save my life. But that's for another day, and one of the kind of stories the press will never print :cool:

Not that I've ever really followed it but 3D Realm's (http://www.3drealms.com/duke4) website doesn't seem to offer much hope.

No, you cannot pre-order the game. If you see some online store saying "We are taking pre-orders", they're just trying to get your money (they usually also make up their own supposed "insider release date info", too). There is no release date set, we are not taking pre-orders for the game. End of story.

I'm not even interested in the game (not a big FPS fan) but the story of it amuses me.

If they release in April they can claim "A Decade in the making."

well, there are a few games i'm looking forward to playing in 2007.

super smash brothers brawl- this tops my list, and i'll probably get a wii around the time this game is expected to be out (which i hear spring). as someone that isn't into the fighting genre at all (too many combos to memorize in most of them and i just suck at it), this game is the best fighting game ever, as it is so deviates from the regular formulas, and instead of beating your opponents into a pulp, you need to knock them out, and the game's use of having you make up combos in situations with very simple attack movements have skill of your smarts and makes it simple for a non-gamer to play and can be really interesting for the experts.

super mario "galaxy"- will likely be picking this up at or soon after release.

twlight princess- i hope to play this game sometime after i get my wii, but the length of 70+ hours will probably have me at intervals with this game.

metroid prime 3- i played the first one last month (haven't got the second one, but i should really do that first) and it was a good game (although a bit short). same situation as tp.

super paper mario- i've played the other two paper marios and i loved them both. even though it's on the turn system which i don't really like for most games, at least this one you can interact instead of standing idle during enemy turns (like dodge attacks, or make your attacks harder). i hope this one is a bit longer than the thousand year door though.

ff xii- with the removal of random battles and a change in the battle system, i'm really excited to play this one. ff x really got me annoyed after a little bit and i stopped, mostly because my cousin who had the game was only staying for a week while i played it. i heard from a friend who's playing now and he likes it.

some other notables: sonic wild fire (i hope it's to the level of sa2, which i think was the best of the 3d sonics), hopefully a pilot wings sequel at last (i liked the n64 version, never played the original), mvp 2007 (not an official ea game, but instead a mod of mvp 2005 that has all of the 2007 season stuff in it over at mvpmods.com due to ea's mvp lockout which is a long story).

i'll probably be playing a couple of others, some from my brother's collection, but those are the main ones i want my hands on.
