Yeah, I've tried that but it just doesn't beat the real thing.

This clone is also much MUCH easier... if you get good at this, be prepared to be destroyed if you actually play the real Geometry Wars :D

It's good, it's just not as good as the real thing. :)

Edit: Looks like this is Grid Wars 2, I believe what I played was Grid Wars 1... although juding from the review, it's still easier. 1.7M score by the reviewer? I'd like to see that happen in Geometry Wars: RE :D

You can quite happily do that in one life on easy (if you try it "properly" on easy, you can overflow the score-buffer, causing it to crash :D). I tend to play on hard, where abouts 1.5m-ish is abouts tops

It must be better on the Xbox.

If you like this style of game check out Mutant Storm (http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=17421) and Kill Monty (http://www.freeverse.com/killmonty/). They work with mouse and a keyboard.

Got it, replaying now. Good difficulty progression, fantastic movement overload. I am a huge fan of this arcade genre.

I was fairly certain the wireless controllers do not work with PC/Mac, even with an adaptor.

A cheaper alternative might be to just buy GW:RE on XBLA ;)

Personally I bought one extra wireless and then two wired controllers for this very reason... heheh.

I was refferring to the offical ms wireless adapter thatenable the x360 controllers to be used on pc ... as to mac compatibility I am sure its only a matter of time till somebody gets drivers for it up (if not already).
However, I agree I think the XBLA might be cheaper and easier but I see when you would want to play it while at your computer.

You could always buy an original xbox controller and mod it to usb =) There are drivers at vt/mu for just such a thing.
