Okay everyone. I'm getting a MacBook Pro (15.4"/2.16Ghz C2D/1GB/120GB) as a replacement for my PowerBook which has undergone 7 repairs (woo!), but I don't want it. Well, I DO want it, but I don't want to deal with AppleCare anymore, I've been doing so since September, and I'm scared that if anything goes wrong with it, this whole fiasco will begin again. So I'm looking to see if anyone is interested in trading a MacBook + cash for it. I figure with a used laptop, I'm less likely to have to go through all this again. Remember, this is a brand new, in the box, MBP.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Macbook C2D 2.0Ghz w/Superdrive
Past that, I'll be upgrading the HD and RAM, so it don't matter much.
Let me know if you'd be interested.

I have a Black 2GHz Core Duo MacBook 2gb RAM, 80gb HD, Airport, Bluetooth, Superdrive, Original packaging, etc - I'm really hankering for a MacBook Pro due to (as I posted in your original thread about the PB) the look of the PB's is great.
I'd be willing to add cash of course as per your request, lemme know!
Edit: Also if you wanted, if you're a Verizon customer for mobile service I could throw in my RAZR (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=267805) as part of the deal.

Well, I'd certainly prefer a C2D, but I'd be interested in a regular Core Duo as well, I suppose. Is it in good shape? Box, manuals, etc? What were you looking to add to it (cashwise?)

Cash: What do you think is reasonable?

Okay, this is how I figure it. If I sell on eBay, I'd get more, but for MR I'd probably let if go to $1800. That's $200 off the new price. The refurb Core Duo Black MB is going for $999 on the Apple Store (with 512MB RAM), so add on the cost of 2x2GB RAM and a little premium since it's on MR, and I'd say... I dunno, $450?

how about the one and only matte screen blackbook on the planet, a marware case, 2gb ram, and (?) cash for the MBP....
detail and some pictures are HERE (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=267104).
drop me a pm if you might be interested. best of luck with the thread, and congrats on the mini upgrade!

Were you interested in the RAZR at all? If not, then I'll have to think about it, talk it over with my mother, and get back to you, don't go holding it for me though, if you get a better trade offer by all means.
Offtopic: Did you actually get the machine yet, or is it yet to be shipped/sent to you?

Wow, that MatteBook looks great, but I really like the glossy screen, sorry.
Phone - No, sorry, I'm on Nextel, so I can't use it. Can't even use a Sprint phone! The MacBook Pro should be on its way today or tomorrow, I just packaged up the PowerBook and am waiting for FedEx to come pick it up. In either case, I would open up the package, take photos of the box and the listed specs, and email those out before I expected anyone to mail me anything of theirs. This thread is kind of a feeler to see how much interest there would be in such a trade, since I'll probably get a MacBook out of this some way or another!

If I can sell my RAZR I know coming up with the extra money shouldn't be a problem, so I'm very interested - larry [atnospam] amacgenius [dotdotdot] com is my email if you get those pictures :).
Just to clarify, mine has the glossy screen, is the MBP a glossy screen, because much like you that's important to me too, ever since I bought this MB, I fell in love with glossy screens.

Hey, I made a thread a while ago regarding this.
I have a new in box Core 2 Duo 2 GHz Macbook White on it's way to me this week as a replacement for a Macbook that has been in a few times.
It'll be new retail packaging. At this point I was planning on keeping it, but what kind of cash were you looking for to swap?

Thanks, but I'm really not interested in a PS3. I don't really game that much.
All PM's replied to! I got off the phone with Apple, and it's going to be a matte MacBook Pro, if that affects anyones decisions at all. I get to resend paperwork tomorrow (by fax), and they'll email me new shipping labels. So I should have this in hand in the next few days.

Good news livingfortoday - the MacBook's trackpad wasn't working well today, took it into the Apple store, they're replacing the whole top case! The top case will be good as new if you're really interested.
Any way to get the upgrade to the glossy screen, because I really am not a huge fan of matte.

Ha ha... oh man. I've got offers from people who prefer matte and some who prefer glossy! Uh, unfortunately it's too late, as I called them today and despite their generous offer to let me upgrade the stock config (for more money on my part), I got it all stock, with the matte screen. I'm sorry about that. Think it over, it'll still be two or three days until I get it, and just let me know - all of ya'll.
Thanks!

I'll wait to get the photos of the specs, etc before I make a final decision :).

i've gotten my top case replaced before because of the trackpad, and the top case is just the rubbery palm rest area, NOT the polycarbonite lid that has the apple logo that glows.
it is weird terminology, but that is what it is.

Hey everyone, just a quick update. I got the new FedEx labels today, and will drop off the PowerBook tomorrow morning at FedEx Kinkos for shipping. The MBP should ship Friday afternoon, which means I'll get it Monday (no service on Saturday), or if it ships Monday, on Tuesday. I'll take some photos then, and toss 'em up for ya'll.
Thanks for all the interest!
Edit: Dropped off tonight! Kinkos said FedEx will pick it up and scan it tomorrow morning!

Ok everybody!
A deal has been made for this, with appleintelrock. Thanks to all who PM'd me and IM'd me and emailed me, and called me at three in the morning at home out of interest.
Should, for some bizarre reason, this deal fall through, I will let ya'll know. But as of right now, this has been....
