Just wondering what the population of servers there were. Thinking about buying it, but don't want to end up playing on two servers. And do the PCs running Halo play with Mac?

Yes, cross platform. I just refreshed at 7 a.m. EST, and there were ~450 players on ~700 servers. I'm sure the player count would at least double at night.
