I am looking to purchase a PowerMac G4 in the near future. I may not be open to buying for another month or so depending on pricing. I guess this may be more of a feeler looking for how much I am going to need to spend.

I need a PowerMac G4 with at least 500 mhz. No monitor needed, hard drive and optical drive are not a big issues. I need 512 ram though and would prefer to have a DVD-R drive in it (again, not a big deal if the dvd drive is not in it). No OS needed, keyboad and mosue would be prefered but not necessary.

I would actually like to have the cube but as pricing is an issue I dont think that is likely. The cube seems to go for a little more.

What sort of price am I looking at here? I have a guess but I am wondering what you guys think. Anyone who has one laying around want to make an offer? Again, I am not ready to pay what I think the price should be for these.

I am building a DVR to replace my tivo. I can offer the tivo for compensation if anyone is interested in it. The subscription is ending and I dont want to pay to continue it. It is a 40 gig single tuner series 2. I dont expect any intrest but if there is, please let me know.

check ebay and/or craigslist......you should be able to get a nice Sawtooth or DA for ~$125-250.

I bought my G4 dual 500MHz Gigabit-E model for 200, keyboard and mouse included. Its my everyday unit now, i bumped the RAM to 1 GB and added a 17" Dell Flat panel. Runs really well for its age. I suppose if your looking for 500MHz and over, a 500 Dual or a single 800 or 867 would suit you best.

BTW, if you're going to use it as a DVR, how are you going to hook it up?

I am planning on getting a converter for the monitor out or just finding a new video card that has a VGA out. I plan to use EyeTV to put the signal into it.

I have an offer I probably will take for the G4 Sawtooth model. If anyone has a G4 cube with at least 500mhz for $200 or less, I might be interested.

I really would like a cube but this offer is very tempting. Again, I cant buy it right away. I am looking to purchase early to mid February.
