Yes. They are upgrading from an older G3 as they would like to run OS X Tiger better, as well as be a little more future proof.

Buy an Intel mini. That's as future-proof as you're going to get at this point. Even a G4 isn't that future proof. (Unless they really need the internal expansion.)
