I have 2 16MB pieces of memory and I may still have a power adaptor. Let me know if 16MB is sufficient and i will let you know if i find a power cable.

I'll think about it. Right now, this has just the stock 16MB. Let me know how much you'd want for a 16MB and the adapter if you find that power adapter, too.

Well, I have a 5300c, it's just not all together yet :). I've got the power supply and the ethernet card (in the mail!), I'm just looking for a keyboard and some RAM still. Oh, and those bottom screws. I may have to just go to Home Depot for those, though.

What speed ram does it take? I think I've got some old sodimms in the shop...
Oh, and can you send a pic of what screws you do need (assuming you have one of a missing pair or something from ifixit to know what you need)?

All I could find on the RAM:
"5300 RAM is unique to the 5300 and 190. It comes on a custom card design featuring a 120 pin connector. A card can contain from 8MB to 56MB. The RAM must have a refresh rate of 70ns or faster. Apple, by designing a custom RAM expansion card module, made it expensive and difficult for the average user to find RAM...
The 5300 can use most RAM designed for the PowerBook 190, but the 190 has an additional requirement that the banks of RAM on the expansion module be contiguous. Therefore, not all RAM designed for the 5300 will work in the 190. However, some 512K by 8 DRAM devices designed for the 190 will not work in the 5300. To be on the safe side, then, one should always check to make sure before buying that the RAM is compatible with the 5300."
As for screws, I have none of the three that go in there now, so I don't know what kind it needs. I think I'm just going to go down to the hardware store tomorrow and start stickin' in screws until I find the right size. Should only be a few cents, and it'll work alright. I'll even paint them black on the bottom to match the case :) .

Nice, thanks for the tip. I'll probably do that, actually!
Anyways, still looking for an external CD drive for this, some RAM, and those keys. I'll also consider an external floppy drive, or if anyone has an adapter that will let me use my HDI-20 floppy drive with the Powerbook's HDI-30 port, I'll go with that, too.

D'oh! Ignore the bottom half of the PM I sent (re:memory)!
Get the Industrial sharpie - the black from those won't come off with alcohol (if you use alcohol to clean anything on the computer...).

That's probably cheaper than hardware stores are selling individual screws for :p .

Yeah, I know those had a history of breaking off. It's not a big deal, as I can resolder it if need be, but this would mainly be a parts machine. Thanks again!

Ok! That pretty much wraps up everything I need for this machine, with the possible exception of a SCSI CD-ROM that'll work with this thing. It would need to have an HDMI-30 adapter, I'm pretty sure. I can check later when I'm near the computer again. But yeah, that's what I need, unless someone has OS 8 on floppies...
