I'm going to be getting an Xbox 360 in the next couple of days and was wondering if it's possible to connect it to my LCD monitor that I use for my MacBook.
The monitor has both VGA and DVI connectors and a single mini jack that is labelled Audio-In.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yup, VGA cable works just fine. And, due to various official designations, it'll be able to do DVD upscaling and the HDMI-flag stuff at 1080p (various companies with anatomical circularity forcing you to do this and that with your kit, VGA is exempt from it all :D)

VGA doesn't carry sound though? Or does it? I always thought it was only video that was carried over.

Well, obviously you need speakers.

I got the dell 22" for $300 shipped. If your on a budget, I highly recommend it. ( plus it comes with a 3 year advanced replacement warranty)

How come you guys in the USA get Dell monitors so cheap ?
The 22" is €470 here, which is $610

Dell almost always has US only coupons/rebates/discounts (especially for monitors). No one ever pays full price for a Dell monitor. I purchased one about a year ago and got it for 50% of its normal price.

^ not fair :( And there European assembly HQ is here in Ireland too and we still dont get cheapies :(
My Dell 24" should arrive today (only ordered yesterday) and it was €800 or $1010 compared to the $650-700 you get it for.
Oh and another thing that bugs me. I'm about 2 hours away from the Dell factory in Limerick and 2 hours from the Apple factory in Cork. (plonked in the middle)
When Dell ship a product it's here next day. When Apple ship it take 3-5 days minimum.
What's that about ? :D

I'm running it on a Samsung 172x 17". Not the newest or biggest but still looks great. Also you might want to check for a monitor with 2 inputs: One for DVI the other for VGA. Since your computer will most likely use the DVI port, the Xbox will use the VGA port. Otherwise you would need a switch box.

I got a 19" Samsung LCD TV and it works awesome. I put the DVI for my PS3, component for Wii and VGA for 360. And it works good as a computer monitor since the resolution is 1440 x 900 instead of the ususal 1280x720. Plus it has all the little nice things a tv has like cable input, a remote, speakers (abeit crappy ones).

i was considering this - though included speakers would be nice..
i'm also looking at an ACER 22inch.. same price range.. both max res 1680-1050
i like all the hookups for the 2007WFP - hmm
what do you guys use for speakers/sound?
i'm working with a pretty small area so 2.1 may be ideal.

most countries in europe are a bit more well socialist in the sense you have healthcare provided and the like. this means higher taxes on goods. that may be a reason if you are in a country like that
