Hi
I don't see your $300 as being a bad price for such a setup but there are some things yours has that I don't need, which are likely the reason for a higher price. However, I'll consider it.

If it maybe had Airport instead of BT, the 700MHz model would do, and I already have an OS for it.

• Addition, I'll be using this as something of a POS. Which is why I'm going for an iMac G4, the easily and very adjustable display would work perfectly.

Hi
I really appreciate it but that's double what I'm looking to spend. :(

If you are looking for an iMac G4 in good condition with an Airport card for ~$200, I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment. IMO, Cybergypsy's iMac on eBay is a deall at $299 even without the Airport card.

Hi
I agree that his price is fair. I never said I needed AP. I'd be happy with a 700MHz, 256MB, 40GB, Combo but, of course, more for that price wouldn't be a bad thing.

Yes, I agree. I wanted to buy one over at MacNN.com and I got a good offer:

17" screen
iMac G4 700MHz
80GB HDD
768MB RAM
10.4.8
Airport Extreme and I *think* Bluetooth

But for $600. I had the same budget as you and I sadly had to turn it down...:(

Even with those specs, I don't know if you'll be able to find something for $200. iLamps (iMac G4's) are a pretty sought after machine, so their values are usually a little higher than their specs would suggest.

I have an 800MHz, 1GB, 40GB, Superdrive (no AE or BT). It's a 15" model and comes with the Pro Mouse and Keyboard, and iSub w/ speakers and I don't think I could let it go for less than $500. I think most iMac G4 owners value their machine this way, but I wish you the best of luck finding a great deal. There's sure to be one out there somewhere (you just better hope you find it before I do). ;)

Hi
That may indeed be the problem but it's the perfect machine for my intended use.

Tray load iMac G3s are not worth anything and slot load iMacs are worth ~$50 - 100 dependent on the upgrades. Heck, look at the price of refurbished / used iMac G5s. The Intel transition has crushed the resale value of non-Power Mac G5 / Xserve G5 PowerPC systems. OK, maybe the last generation PowerBooks are holding their value fine yet but likely not for long.

Hi
This thread has slightly derailed. Anywho...

It's seems as some may be getting the wrong idea. Cybergypsy...I am not attempting to harass or haggle you to try and cheat you out of $$$ on the sale of your iMac. Am I looking for a deal? Sure am but I'm not trying to take advantage of the seller either. I've been on both sides, just like most.

I feel it is only fair to let your auction run its course. I'm in no hurry and if you can get the minimum bid you're asking, that's good for you. I'm not saying that your machine isn't worth that amount necessarily -- iMac G4s are indeed very unique and likely do hold value better and you do have upgrades -- but it's also more than I need and, therefore, I'm not as willing to 'jump' my budget for such. If your iMac doesn't sell on eBay, than maybe we can cut a fair deal.

Sound good?
