Will PSP UMD movies from the UK work in an American PSP unit?

The UK has far cooler movies for it.

Thanks!

The same for the PS3 too. I thought Blu-Ray and HDDVD were region free? I thought having all the audio tracks and subtitles and so on on the one disk was one of the things they were touting as "of the future"?

HD-DVD is region free. Or at least 'at the moment', should they decide to regionalise it.

BluRay still has regional lockouts.

Can anyone make any sense of that? What possible purpose does it serve to tell Canadians they can watch movies from Mexico or Japan but not China or Australia?

Luckily for us all, the Divx file format has no region encoding, nor do VLC and Quicktime. :)

So why can I play UK, US and Japanese Blu-Ray DVDs in my Japanese PS3 ?

Games or Movies ?

Also Japan & America are the same region.

I also believe that some BluRay movies (like DVD) just to make matters more complicated do not have region coding on them just yet, but officially BluRay is supposed to be regionalised.

The best advice is to check before you buy that the disc is region free, or matches your region.

Game's are not region coded, movies are. So if you had a Japanese or US PS3 you cannot play BD movies from the UK as they are not in the same region. You can however play games from any region on it.
