It may be possible but not easy in the slightest. I'm highly betting -- And I don't feel like double checking right now :) -- that it is a proprietary internal video connector.

To Bibulous, I don't know if it matters but DT&T Computer Services (http://www.dttservice.com/imac/imacg5.html#imacg5%20logic) will do the repair for about 60% of what Apple charges.
