We went to two stores to try and get a Wii for the kids. We ended up with two of them. I thought I would check to see if anyone here was interested in buying one of them. I have a 100% positive rating of 95 on eBay and I have a verified business account at Paypal so I can take credit card payments through Paypal. I will only ship to a Paypal verified address.
What do you guys think it's worth w/ UPS shipping?

$249 + whatever you paid in tax + actual shipping.

I understand the sentiment, but then I would actually lose money on Paypal fees. Why would I do that?
Why not just suggest I return it to the store? Seriously, I thought it would be a NICE thing on my part to offer it to someone here. I like MacRumors and all, but why would you tell me to eat money just to sell it here?
It looks like these are still going for $300-330 + shipping on eBay.

So sell it on ebay, where you'll pay ebay fees AND paypal fees. Personally, I think you could easily sell it for COST. Paypal fees, shipping, etc. Add up how much all that would cost, and price is accordingly.

Again, why bother to even make the suggestion to sell it at cost? Are you just trying to wise crack? If you were trying to be fair to me, wouldn't you just suggest that I take it back to the store and get my money back?
I'm kinda sorry I asked now. I expected this normally helpful community to make suggestions that would answer my question with the idea of helping me.

i think it is a matter of perspective. On one hand, the OP (original poster) could say that he is looking for a small profit and just ask a flat amount. That is one of the advantages of buying from macnn forums. Their forum rules state that there must be an asking price, and there are no "feelers" allowed. that way, there are less lowballers that stir up anger.
I also have a wii, that i would sell to my friends at cost if they wanted one. If there is no interest, i'll put it on ebay for a small profit.
just for numbers sake, a wii costs $250. Tax is roughly 7%, so lets say $20. Paypal fees is roughly 3.5%, so lets say $10. Shipping varies with carrier, and with distance, but figure roughly $15 including insurance. and add a modest $5 for gas money, money for packaging (box and styrafoam peanuts).
So just to break even, the OP would have to sell it at $300.
IF the OP wanted to go on ebay, the fees for selling (including paypal) is 10%, so to break even, the seller would have to sell it for $315.
I bought my first Wii for $335 shipped the day it came out on ebay (the seller made roughly $20 by standing in the cold overnight).

I agree - just return it, not worth the hassle of using ebay! Hope you enjoy the other one though, I've been waiting to try one - hopefully soon :)

While I couldn't care less about how much money you want to make on the thing, your never going to make any friends here charging other people for PayPal fees. Thats one of those things you have to pay if you want to sell it. If not, has been said, take it back to the store.
As has also been said, if you put it on ebay you have to pay PayPal and Ebay costs.

But wait... The $310 might interest someone I know. Maybe. Let me ask them and see if they want your Wii. What is your eBay account name? And a photo of the Wii and receipt, please.
Done.
Save the time and energy from defending your stance for all the hypocrites and just list it on Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org/)(include pics).
Thanks for the Craigslist suggestion. I might do that, but I really thought it would be nice to hook someone up on MacRumors rather than just try to get the most money possible. Obviously, I'm looking for some profit to make it worth my time, but I don't need a lot.
As for the hypocrites that jumped in just to threadcrap and complain, I'm OK with them. I'm pretty comfortable with my motivations and the way I've handled myself here. I just thought I owed it to the community to be clear about what I was thinking.

The Wii has been sold. Thanks to everyone for their interest in the Wii, and the interesting comments in here.
And for the record, the buyer offered me more than what I was asking, but I declined the extra money. I think we both feel that the deal was fair and I'm happy with that.
