Yes, yes I'm a woman. Yes, yes I like something that looks cute.
All I need is something to write with, browse a little (so ethernet card, please) and can handle my email. Nothing fancy. Something cute to carry around so I can write when I feel like it and take on vacation.
Been looking and looking, these little cuties are hard to come by. Can anyone help a gal out?

I have a tangerine clamshell ibook. I'm in the market for a new computer, so I might sell my ibook. If you haven't messed around with one, I will say they seem a bit heavy compared to the portables of today. One more thing is I think the battery is fried, and if that's the case, you would just need a new one...I have it plugged in all the time. Let me know if you have any questions you need answered and how much you're looking to spend...

I just made a bid on a clamshell on ebay -- the auction ends in 7 hours so I'll come back here and we can talk if I lose the auction :)
What programs do you have on it?

I had enrolled in a graphic/web design school, a few years back, and the ibook was included in the tuition. Therefore, I used this machine to learn the graphic programs. I have student versions (which are full versions - their just supposed to be for educational purposes only) of photoshop 5.5, illustrator 9, indesign 1, quarkxpress, flash 4, dreamweaver 3, fireworks (?), inspire 3d (the tuned down version of lightwave)...and then all of the other software that comes with a mac.
good luck with your bid and let me know what happens!!!

You know, the auction never had a picture --- it went past my max bid anyway... so what are your specs and how much are you looking for?

It's a tangerine clamshell ibook...has all of the software (with discs) that I previously mentioned. It's a G3 300 mghz - 6 gb hard drive, 192 mb ram, cd-rom (not rewritable, however I have an external iomega cd rewritable that I could give you). All of the boxes/instructions are at my parents house in NY (i'm currently in SC) but I can get them to send me that stuff.
I'm not sure how much to sell it for. The machine is in great shape...except that I still haven't tested the battery in a while. I still use this machine to do some of my web/graphic work, so I would need a replacement. I'm currently debating on an emac...but waiting to see if a deal comes along. Do you have a price range that you're looking at???

Djtet,
I believe that you promised me that ibook once you got a replacement. At least that's what the pm you sent me said :)

Don't you worry...if you really want it, I will sell it to you first...I just saw you following up on an imac or two in some other posts! I'm still not sure if I will sell this machine...I still use it and need a replacement. However, I might opt for a refurbished emac sooner than later!

I found one on ebay and won the auction... should already be in the mail to me! :) Now, if I have any trouble figuring out the new platform (I'm used to PC) then I am sure you will see me here on these boards :D
Thanks for all your help!

I was just kidding anyhow. I really dont know what I want yet. I would like an ibook for the portability, but the imac I was looking at from MightyMac looks pretty good:
Airport card
bigger Hd
faster cpu
more ram
dvd drive
But like I said, the portability of the ibook is a big plus.
