okay got a dj show soon. havent downloaded arkaos yet (for live motion animation) because im waiting till next week when i hook up dsl. im wondering if i can work some live motion animation for backdrop show for a dj with just my laptop a projector and a digitial camcorder. what can i do and how do i do it?
im trying to expierement with this stuff so im new so dont knock me for being a rookie because i know how pitiful i sound at the moment.

Are you DJ-ing using the Laptop? As that might hog the machine for doing something with the projector.
I assume as you mentioned downloading Arkaos that you're creating a mix in iTunes then running the visualisation on the projector, full screen.
Leaving you with nothing to do...;)
However, if you were to plug the camera directly into the projector, you could have a back drop of whatever you filmed earlier, or you could leave it live, perhaps on some cool lights or something?
I think that DV cameras need the tape removing though if you're running them as a live feed, otherwise they have a timed shut-off onto standby.
Another thought, is somehow setting up a live radio broadcast (shoutcast, is that right?) and then tuning into it thru iTunes, and running the visuals that way.
Would that work, anyone? It just came to me then - can you add more radio stations to iTunes? Help me AND krossfyter!!!

thanks. nah im not using my laptop for the music at all. the dj has his own stuff his running for the music. im simply trying to see what i can provide is terms of live motion visualization in the backdrop armed just with my laptop a digital video camcorder and a projector. im not understanding what you said about the dv camcorder for some reason.
