View Full Version : 1.25ghz OS9 Bootable. Do they have FW 800?

I couldn't seem to find that info on the Apple site. Are they the same as the OSX only 1.25s in terms of features or would I be paying a few hundred extra dollars for less features? Although I don't want to pay for it, I probably need it, so any info would be great. Thanks.

I don't believe so, only the OSX-only bootables come with FW800, sorry.

But you can always add a PCI card is you need it..

Careful.......you probably will run into driver problems if you try to use FW800 in OS 9, as it was never supported.
It's still worth a try though.

Wow, good point. I think I'll check into that. I was on the verge of getting a FW 800 card and a a new Lacie drive specifically for OS9's music app on my old G4. Could have been a stupid (and expensive) move!
