I have a 2.33 15" MacbookPro that I might be thinking of selling it and buy a macbook cause really I only use to my laptop to browse and music...I have the box and everything that came with it....The laptop doesnt have no scratches at all cause i bought a Radtech sleeve from day 1...Oh BTW it is the one with the Matte screen...I also have the receipt from apple...it was bought around Nov.26 2006

I think he means total. So subtract the value of your Macbook from the $2,200 (which I also believe is a tad high) and that's how much you'd pay.

P.S. I think the value of the 15'' 2.33 ghz MBP is worth around $1950-$2000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple15-Inch-Macbook-Pro-Core-2-Duo-2-33-Ghz-2GB-RAM_W0QQitemZ160088496587QQihZ006QQcategoryZ140065QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) shipped, and the value for the Macbook is around $1,050 shipped...thus, a trade + around $900 cash would seem like a good deal for both parties.

Wow, guess I'm in a economical analysis mood tonight

Yeah that is what I meant to say, thanks...but do you really think is that high? considering my laptop doesnt have not even one scratch on it and I paid close to $2800 not even 3 months ago?

Yeah, I do. Bottom line is notebooks lose their value quickly, especially when they're used (granted Apple notebooks usually hold their value well, not so much the case since the Intel transition).

Anyways, the average rate for your model, assuming it's a used 15'' 2.33 ghz/2 gb/120 gb C2D MBP is around $2,050-2,100 shipped on eBay. You can check the completed listings yourself. Also, we know, eBay prices are on the very high end for value.

Historically, prices are usually are at least 5-10% cheaper here on MacRumors because people don't want to mess with eBay fees/Paypal fees/scammers/etc.

Also, if you bought it in November, you should've paid around $2,494 for that model, unless you added on AppleCare, because that's the price point it was at. Here's your exact model, bought in November just like you, sold for around $2,100 shipped a couple days ago (http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-MacBook-Pro-laptop-2-33-GHz-Intel-Core-2-Duo_W0QQitemZ300080557752QQihZ020QQcategoryZ140065QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on ebay.

I understand what you are saying as but we dont even know how much he is asking for his macbook in the first place...I just came up with that price thinking it was reasponable, I never said that we couldnt negotiate or nothing...

Exactly, that's why I gave a reasonable take on both notebooks, and it's a "fair & reasonable" opinion because I'm not involved :D

Going from a 15" screen to a 13" screen is tough. I feel pretty crowded when I use my roommate's MB.

But for the OP, going from a 13" screen to a 15" screen, you're going to love the extra real estate!

agreed...

but it is nice switching from the 17 to the 13 every once in a while...but thats more of a nice tiny factor...instead of "dude where'd my 2 inches go?

I know what you mean...another reason why I want to switch is because I am planning to get a brand new car in a few months and any extra money will help you know...I only use my computer like only 3 hours a night basically..so I dont need a expensive laptop just for that....I rather have someone else enjoy it ;)
