Hi guys,
I'd like your advice: I'm planning to sell the above system, maybe here or on eBay. My sis recently upgraded (or downgraded IMHO) to a MacBook and I was the lucky recipient of her PB. Its just over 2 years old, and has a few minor scratches, no dings or dents. She looked after it quite well (and ran it almost exclusively on the power cord- I ran down the battery last week, doing some browsing, papering, iTunes and light photoshop and it clocked in a surprising 3:02!!)
Right now it has a 100GB Toshiba HD and 512 MB RAM. She bought it with Panther on it (its a Rev C), but I recently put my copy of Tiger on it (from my Rev D PB 12"). It also has Office:Mac 2004, iWork '06, iLife '06 and Toast 7. I may decide to sell it w/o the OS if I sell it here, cos I'm not sure I want to part with my 10.4 DVD (or my Office). I may also include a sleeve.
Any comments regarding what you think its worth would be appreciated :)
Cheers

B/c upgraded hard drive maybe $575-615 shipped here on MR...maybe $75 more on eBay.
P.S. Under the Apple EULA you have to sell it w/the original OS

Thanks for the input :) Guess I'll reinstall Panther on it when the time comes to sell.

You can sell it with Tiger if you include the discs and remove Tiger from any other computers you've installed it on.

I could also do that since Leopard is around the corner...
And $600 seems a little bit low, I wont lie, I had been hoping for a higher estimate :o

Indeed, $600 isn't that much, but the reality of PPC macs these days means for $950 you can have a refurb macbook that outperforms the powerbook in every way except size and video (which are both rather close), and has a warranty. That said, the market could get much worse for a 12"pb if apple introduces a subcompact later this year.

Thanks for all the input guys.
And its true that the new intel Macs have really kicked PPC out the door... I'll look to sell in the next couple weeks (before Apple releases an 11" and I basically get like $100 for it off eBay  )
Thanks again.

If you do decide to sell it on let me know - my housemate is in the market, and a PB would be nice for her. If you don't mind shipping to the UK, anything up to $750 including shipping is fine. She'd be looking to buy at the end of March, so plenty of time.

Back from Spriiing Break
Anyway, here are some specs and pics.
As you can see, though the battery has a whopping 109 cycles on it, it still retains literally 99% of its charge because my sis ran it almost exclusively on the power cord. I mean, this thing can go for over 3 hours easily on one charge! More than my own 12" (1.5 GHz)!
Also, as I mentioned before, I upgraded the HD to 100GB with a brand new Toshiba drive...

Pictures of the machine itself. Its in pretty immaculate condition, with only one scratch to speak of. I have (am going to) posted a close up of the scratched area...

Sorry folks, but I've ponied up the readies for the laptop. Not to jump the gun already but brepublican has been a great guy to deal with (despite being a Man Utd fan :p), and my housemate is looking forward to getting her first Mac!
