So I clicked on this ad. It said "You have been selected, you are a WINNER!!!" in flashing letters.

I was like "Sweet, I am a winner..."

So I clicked on the picture and was redirected to a site that collected all my personal information including my social, all 5 of my major credit cards, my bank account numbers, etc. It looked like a legit site and I was excited so I entered everything right away and clicked submit.

Turns out I won a free iPhone. Supposed to be here sometime next week. I bet all you people are jealous. I am going to have the first iPhone and it has "High technology".

Oh and here is proof.

Can I have your social security number and your credit card numbers too?

I want to give you another iPhone!

Why would they need your social security number to mail you an iPhone? I'm hoping your joking, cause your either really young or really nieve to be giving that kind of personal info away.

But if they mail you an iphone next week, congrats, hope it was worth your identity ;)

wtf? that's not even a legit iPhone picture, the iPhone isn't that square. Were they feeling energetic and decide to photoshop an iPhone rather than copy the picture from Apple's website?

I just get so damn sick of seeing those stupid scams, my favorites are still the ones with the classic windows dialog box saying something like "you are a winner" or Viruses detected, download free software now?" on and the best ones "you boss may be tracking the websites you go to". I guess a lot of people actually click the links and fill out all of their information because there are more and more and they have to be making money some how.

I really, really hope the OP is joking. Regardless of how naive people can be, I don't like to see people getting ripped off.

I e-mailed the company today asking about my order.

They e-mailed back offering to include Leopard 10.5 OS for an additional $100.

Just now I realized this all seems a bit fishy as Leopard does not come out until tomorrow.

So I canceled the whole deal.

Anyway I found a 8 core Mac Pro on Craigslist.org with a free leopard upgrade coupon for $2,000. I think I am going to snatch that deal. :D

wakerider017, I can't figure out if you're a troll, incredibly naive, or just pulling our leg. But if you are being honest in all these posts, you need to do something about the fact that you've given your credit card numbers, social security number (if that's what you meant by "social") and bank account number  to what's probably a scam. CONTACT YOUR BANK and credit card companies and tell them what you did. You need to protect yourself. I have no idea whom to contact about your SS info, I suppose some government agency. Identity theft happens all the time, and it can truly mess up your life.

Ok, if you're a troll or just pulling a stupid prank on us, I look stupid now. But in the unlikely event you're genuine, someone in this thread needs to tell you these things.

Good job posting some helpful "advice". But I really think that this is all just a big joke. :) The OP's posts are too naïve to even sound real.

Sigh, you're probably right. I just figured all the sarcastic comments were not helping if this guy really was that clueless.

It's now been reported as spam. Or maybe the right word is trolling, I dunno. But it stinks.
