All--

If anyone's interested, I've got a 512 MB stick of RAM from my (just shipped off) iMac G5. I had upgraded the RAM to 2 GB and so have the original factory memory, and thought I'd see if anyone here would like it. It's been sitting in the plastic box one of the 1GB sticks came in since September 2005--when I got the iMac and the additional RAM. It is PC3200U-400 MHz-DDR CL3; it is branded as "Nanya." $50 takes it, includes shipping.

Best,

Bob

Would that be ok in my powerbook 1.67? It takes pc2700.

The iMac RAM is a DDR-400 PC3200 DIMM
It is suitable for iMac G5 1st generations,
[Edit - more accurately, iMac G5's prior to the iSight model]
Mini G4, Mirror Drive Door G4, and eMac 1 GHz and up USB 2.0 models. It could be used in a first generation PowerMac G5 if someone had another 512 to pair it up with

It cannot be used in any Powerbook or iBook. Your Powerbook takes SODIMMs which are physically a different size.

SHU--

Unfortunately, no. It will not fit in a Powerbook.

Canada--Interesting, because the iMac it came from was (I thought!) a second gen iMac G5--it was a 20" 2.0 GHz. Or was my iMac still considered a "first" gen?

Best,

Bob
