I'm having a hard time viewing Xvid files that i go off bittorrent

I could really use a little help. whenever i open an xvid file, all i see is the attached image. i tried downloading and installing the codec files in my library/quicktime folder, but that hasnt worked. Anyone able to help me out?

If you got them off of bittorent they may be corrupted. try getting them from a more legal source.
