Ok, today my school blocked macrumors! They didn't even tell us anything, and now I can't enter it. The filter (Dans Guardian) says I am missing a "Translation Key". Is there anything I can do to "bypass" this?

Grr..I hate it when that happens. It is still open at my school though..
Psst...try putting a '?' at the end of the address - that worked at my place for months, until the IT guys realised...otherwise it's proxies :D

What reason could that be though?

I'm pretty sure this has come up before and it's MacRumors' policy to not allow for discussion of how-to circumvent school systems and whatnot.

Because the school's paying for the internet connection and they're allowed to decide what can and can't come through said connection.
Personally, I'm against blocking sites, but if they are blocked, then I'm against trying to find ways around it. Working for a university's IT department, I see the amount of work that's put into implementing pretty much anything, and it angers me to see some dumb kid try to circumvent it.
