It's called advertising. You're free to advertise wherever advertising space is offered.

Sigh...This has been discussed before in numorous threads, such as this one (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=284327), this one (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=265984&highlight=windows+ads), this one (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=281910&highlight=windows+ads) and this one. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=280420&highlight=windows+ads)and many countless others.
The admin does not control the ads, so there really isn't too much we can do, although we are trying.

Sometimes I get some weird ones on my site:
70270
The new Power Mac G5? (this is on there today)
70271
Office XP and Office Pro 2007 in one banner ad...
70273
A Windows Vista one, next to a surprisingly relevant classic Mac OS ad...
Obviously none of these ads would interest anybody looking at my site, but a lot of the ads that appear there are quite relevant. I'm pretty satisfied with Google Adsense.
