From dictionary.com:
Wry- Dryly humorous, often with a touch of irony.
Cooter- A freshwater tortois of Florida. (Or a town in MO).
So unless cooter has some slang meaning, "Wry Cooter" is a dryly humorous turtle from Florida. God I love dictionary.com...
(Though I'm sure the Wry Cooter can fill us in on the real reason he called himself that. Cool name!)

Cooter was the mechanic from the Dukes of Hazzard. You remember, the guy that Bo and Luke would call on the CB to see if he "had his ears on"?
Obviously, this is in reference to the un-broadcast episode where Cooter puts a Ford carbuerator on the General Lee and then smugly sits back and makes hinting-jokes whenever Bo and Luke make comments about the throttle feeling funny.
"Well gosh, Cooter, I know you said you didn't do anything to the General besides an oil change, but she shure does run a little funny. I hope that Uncle Jessie hasn't been hiding any shine in the gas tank."
(This is funny to Cooter, of course, because everyone knows that the General Lee is a Dodge. )
