SOLD.

Just wondering if anybody's interested in this. It's been taken out of the box and shot with every once in awhile, but it's in brand new condition with the box and everything that originally came with it. The plastic film over the screen has never even been removed! This is one of the coolest digital cameras out on the market. It's a extremely sharp 7.2 megapixel sensor with a huge 7x optical zoom lens with state-of-the-art Optical Image Stabilization. It features a touch interface which many camera manufacturers are surely going to try to copy in the future. I'd keep it, but I just bought a Canon Rebel XT and need to pay that off. Offers accepted. I'll post some pictures of the unit if there's any interest. If you want to check my credibility, my eBay user name is aeafhco.

Here's a sample image I took (scaled down, of course): http://www.flickr.com/photos/songsforbears/420740179/

Seems quite a few of us have jumped from P&S to DSLR lately! I just did the same. Unfortunately, I had no luck selling here, so I ended up on eBay.

Good luck with your sale.

How much???????????

How much???????????

I'd like $225. That price includes USPS shipping to anywhere in the U.S. If you are outside of the U.S., it'll probably be about $10 for shipping to the U.K. Other destinations, ask me. I think this price is reasonable as it is brand new, exactly the same condition as you would buy it from a retailer. The cheapest price I can find it from a retailer is $250, but that's without shipping and tax, so I think this is a good deal.

I forgot to mention that when I did use the camera, I always cleaned the camera with canned air. Very clean.

Not familiar with the camera myself, does that lens retract? I nearly bought a camera today (I shoot dslr) but I wanted something to hold in my purse and such while I am out frolicking at night with drunk friends. :) Anyway, if that lens retracts that makes it purse worthy. If not it'll just be a cool ass camera that I want and doesn't serve my purposes. :( Let me know because I think we could work something out perhaps.

Nah, there's always a bit standing out. When I first got it, I tried to put it in all the pockets of my jeans and it fit quite well, might be a little more difficult in gal's jeans though...

What other one are you looking at though? Perhaps I can sway you, as this one really has some features that no other camera on the market has. If not, thanks for your interest!

Can you take some photos of the camera itself? Top, side, etc? Maybe stick it up next to something so I can get a sense of scale?
I've been looking at one from Sony, the Olympus Stylus 710, Casio Exlim so along those lines as far as size goes. I'm not worried about taking anything more than those party shots and such while out. I have dslrs for my more serious work, but booze + dslr doesn't ever work out for me.

I'll take some pictures of it tomorrow. The projecting part of the lens is only 1.4 inches. Pictures make it look much bigger than it really is. This little projection is well-worth the 7x optical zoom, great for catching that cute kid in the corner of the room when he/she isn't looking.

Can't speak for the Casio, but I wanted to let you know that most reviewers recommend staying away from the Stylus series.

This is what I've gathered from a few of my favorite review sites:
-Every review I've read about on professional photography review sites has been negative.
-Uses xD Picture Cards. Most people would rather eat and digest an xD Picture Card than use a camera that uses one.
-3x optical zoom. This was an amazing amount of optical zoom. In the 90's. Not sure if you know this, but no matter what the DIGITAL zoom on a camera is, you want to turn it off. OPTICAL zoom is what counts and you'll be behind with 3x.
-Take five hours to charge the battery and you have to take the battery out to do it, it's not a USB charge or plug-the-camera-into-the-wall charge.
-Standard "Left, Right, Up, Down, Okay" interface. Sure, it's what most people are used to, but touch-sensitive is where the market is heading.
-No image stabilization or auto shake reduction (you're going to be impaired while taking these pictures, correct?).

I'll get on taking those pictures to give you an idea of the size tomorrow. Thanks for your continued interest!

Great I appreciate it. Knowing my needs I'm fairly well aware of the reviews and such of each camera. I've also used each one in store mostly but even still, I have not bought yet and I'd love to see those photos.

Sorry about the harsh flash and dusty camera. Most people don't use the flash on an XT. And the NV7 has been packed away in a camera bag for awhile.

thanks. let me think about it. the lens sticking out is sort of not what i was looking for, but there are other features that would make up for it in the end.

Okay, sure thing. Quite honestly, I think it'd be a great purse camera. But most of the girls that I see go out to the apartments and frats aren't carrying bags. It's got a wrist strap, haha. Also, just so you know, the flash pops up from the top when needed. That always turns heads. In fact, the camera in general turns a lot of heads.

Odd must have been just at my work. Anyway I'm going to pass. I love the camera, went to check one out today, but I don't want one where the lens sticks out like that. It's a great camera though!

Well, thanks so much for the interest! If you change you mind, it'll be on eBay on Sunday if I can't find a buyer before then. Thanks again!

What a beautiful camera. I'd totally buy this if I hadn't just gotten a Nikon (which I'm disliking currently). good luck with your sale!

Aww, thanks! But which Nikon did you get? They generally make wonderful cameras... I'm a Canon man myself, but I can give Nikon a bit of credit.

It's a Nikon S6. The camera itself generally takes good photos... That is if there's the perfect amount of light and nothing is moving. I just seem to take more bad photos then good ones with it. I'm not really new to digital cameras either. I thought it would be an upgrade for my 4 year old sony camera, but it I'm wishing I had gotten something else.

Oh gotcha, yeah they make amazing DSLR's, but I've never heard anything spectacular about their point and shoots. Sorry to hear your Nikon isn't working out!

I've never had such a smooth transaction on MacRumors. Shane responds promptly to all messages politely and articulately. And he pays quickly, which is always nice. ;)

A wonderful transaction. A seller's dream! Thanks!
