I got it from Lacie directly & have two. If you are interested in waiting I don't think shipping would be too unreasonable because the racks weight next to nothing. If you are interested I am shipping all items from New Jersey.

I have personal purchased both new and used LaCie HDDs with no problems. The only problem I have had with any LaCie product was an external DVD-RW drive that had a power brick go bad and was able to get a replacement on the cheap.

Pros for used
Cheaper & they Work

Cons for used
No warranty

Pros for new
They work & 1yr warranty

Cons for new
Expensive

I have only had 1 HDD go bad and that was an internal IDE OEM Maxtor about 6 years ago - the technology has gotten to a point that it either dies in the first 90 days or just plain wears out down the road.

All three drives are under a year and a half old, with the 1tb being the newest at about 13 months.
