The 45w power adapter will work fine. The one I had that originally came with my PowerBook 12" was a 45w adapter. The 45w will even power the 15" and 17" PowerBooks, however it will not charge them. The 45w power adapter should charge and power the 12" PowerBooks just fine. :)
