For a number of reasons that will be explained in a later forum post (all very good, I promise) I'm considering selling my beloved PowerBook.

It is in great condition. 12" screen, 1.33 GHz G4 processor, 768MB of RAM, and an 80GB 5400RPM hard drive. This is the Rev. C model. MacRumors Guide Linkety: PowerBook_G4_12#Rev._C I also purchased Final Cut Express 2 with this computer, which I would consider selling as well. AppleCare was purchased with this computer.

I have to say, this computer hasn't ever let me down. I've used it as a production vessel on a Yearbook staff for three years, often doing deadline-critical photography and Photoshop work on it and it hasn't ever skipped a beat.

How much do you think it is worth?
Realize I may not actually sell this computer, just trying to get a feel for how much it is worth... I'd need to replace it, and if this computer cannot contribute a sizable chunk of its proceeds to that cause, well, :(

Here on MR, probably $600-650ish shipped. Maybe get $700 on eBay.

Wow... Pismos (PowerBook G3s) go for ~$500. My computer is only worth $200 more?

BTW, the battery still goes for ~4 hours...

It's a question of rarity I'm afraid - you see 17" G4 iMac's selling for near the same price of a G5 iMac. Mac lover's are a bunch who love to collect!

My housemate is in the market for a Powerbook, I think she should stick to getting the last 12" G4 1.5ghz model, but she may go for the 1.33ghz as long as it had an SD. It would however need shipping to the UK. If you decide to sell let me know.

Yup, that's the truth. I bought a 12'' Powerbook 1.5 ghz/1.25 gb memory/80 gb/Superdrive with Marware carrying case off here 4 months ago for $720 shipped, and that's a much better computer than yours. You can look at eBay prices if you don't believe me, but yes, what I quoted is fairly accurate I believe in terms of market price for your Powerbook.

I maybe interested depending on how much you wanted for it. How much Applecare does it have left and would you be ok with posting to the UK? The extra software is of no use to me just the software install CD's is all that i would need.

with the less ram and half harddrive of mine but with a working superdrive or other optical, i'd say 400-450 shipped.
