Rokem is right. You need 500 posts (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:MacRumors_FAQ#I_can.27t_upload_an_avatar)before you can earn an avatar.

But don't spam your way there -- find conversations that interest you and say real and interesting things. A few months and you'll have your 'tar.
