Hey all,

I'm looking to sell a perfect condition PB G4 soon, and was wondering if I could get a price estimate (and maybe some offers). Here are the specs:

1GHZ PowerPC G4
512MB RAM
40GB Hard Drive
12" Display
Airport Card
OSX 10.3 Panther Pre-loaded (Install Discs included)
1 BRAND NEW IN BOX Rechargeable
2 Rechargeable Batteries (3 years old, came with comp, still working, but may not hold up much longer)
Wall Charger/Power Supple
Very nice Marware Case

Anyone open to giving me their opinion on how much I could get for it?

Before someone gets to it, if you can't find the original install disc for 10.2 then you have to wipe it before you sell it. :D

It's "illegal" and against MR rules.

Sorry. :)

Hey no problem. I'll edit my post. I can see how that could be a legal issue.

Since this site is full of people who are aware of the current models, you'll get less here than on ebay. I'm guessing around $550-700 depending on the condition, what software is included, battery life etc. I would post more info about the laptop actually.

I've updated the original post with a little bit more info.

Thanks!

I'm going to do some quick maintenance (take it into my local store to make sure everything is in order) and then it will be up for grabs.

I am selling. I'm just taking it into my local Apple store. I want to make sure everything is in order before I sell (just so that I make sure that the buyer gets a perfect PB).

OK here's the deal. I've taken it into my Apple Store, and I'm having them run some maintenance on it to make sure that the eventual buyer gets the best performance out of the machine.

I'm also buying BRAND NEW batteries (not cheap) to replace the 3 year old batteries for extended usage.

Should have it ready to sell in 7-8 days.

Dude you realize that the PB 12" only has 256mb soldered on, so it is impossible to have 1gb of ram total in the machine. You can have 768mb or 1.25gb but not 1gb. The 867ghz PB 12" only had 128mb soldered on the mojo as I recall, tho I see you have the 1ghz machine. I love these machines and only WISH they took more ram.

Oops. That was a typo. Thanks for spotting that.

EDIT: The machine will also come with Panther pre-loaded, and all install discs included.

FYI,

I can probably be talked into picking up one of your batteries. Not sure if eBay would really give you as much value with them bundled.

Well, I'd prefer to sell everything together, but if I like your offer, I may do it.

So what will the final price be? My old G4 Powerbook 867 mhz died last year and I kinda miss it. Maybe that would be a good replacement for it ;)

I've got multiple offers, but somewhere in between $550-$700 most likely.

Brand new batteries??? any chance your current batteries are the subject of the battery recall???

I got both my 12" PB batteries replaced via the recall. Something to consider.

Your price range sounds very good and anywhere in there would go well.

I just sold my 867MHz/640MB/40GB/Combo/AP+BT to a friend for $475 and got a 1.5GHz/1.25GB/80GB/Superdrive/AP+BT for $675. Yours would probably fall smack dab in the middle: I would actually say to not take lower than $550.

OK. The PowerBook is almost back from my local Apple Store for its pre-selling checkup. I've currently got quite a few people interested and offers up to $600 USD.

Thanks!
NickD

EDIT: Offer is now up to $625

I've got the Powerbook back from the shop, and will not be accepting offers after tonight. The current "bid" is up to $625, so if you want to offer more, post here, or PM/IM me.

Sorry for another post, but a few offers fell through and I need to accept offers again.

$625 shipped within the US. If more than 1 person is interested, you guys can fight for it :D
