I'm thinking of selling my iMac G5 to buy either a C2D iMac or a MacPro. I have no idea what this is worth so please chime in if you DO have an idea or if you would like to make me an offer. Here are the specs:

17" iMac G5

1.9GHz GHz PowerPC 970fx (G5)
250G HDD

Airport Extreme Card (802.11g)
BT 2.0 + EDR

1.5GB RAM (512MB from Apple and 1GB stick of 3rd party) 240-pin PC2-4200 (533MHz) DDR2 SDRAM

ATI Radeon X600 Pro
128MB DDR Graphics Memory

633MHz System Bus

Slot Loading 8X Superdrive (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/DVD-RW/CD-RW)

15.5lbs., 16.9"H x 16.8"W x 6.8"D

3 480MBit/s USB ports
2 400Mbit/s FireWire ports
2 USB 1 ports on Keyboard

Apple Remote
iSight built-in

All original manuals, discs, box, and packaging
OS 10.4.9 (with all updates)
Apple Keyboard and Apple Mighty Mouse (wired)

AppleCare available until late September of 2007 (I bought a RevA iMac G5 in October 2004 (when they were introduced) and it was replaced d/t many problems in November of 2005....my original AppleCare warranty was transferred to this iMac G5 so it lasts until late September 2007)

This iMac has been flawless. I've played quite a bit of WoW on it, edit home video, store lots of music and photos, use some pro Apps (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.) and do all of my basic web surfing, text documents, etc. on it. I take OUTSTANDING care of all my electronics, and this is no exception. I've been a member here since early 2003 and my eBay ID is vsperez78 if you want to look up some positive feedback for buying peace-of-mind.

Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I'm going to say don't take less than 1000... can anyone back this up?

I'd say $1000 is optimistic, as you can get a refurb 17" Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with a much faster processor and a fresh warranty for $1049. Yeah you have a couple upgrades in there, so that's worth something. But I'd say $1000 max...probably more like $800-$900.

Yeah, I'd also say along the lines of 800-900, because of all the Core Duo's out there floating around that were replaced with the C2D's.

It's a very nice unit there, and you shouldn't have much trouble finding a buyer for it. I know if I had 800-900 to burn on a semi-new computer at the moment I'd spring for it.

Good luck with your sale!

No way. If you can get $850 shipped for that machine I'd take it if I were you. They aren't even paying $1,000 for that machine on eBay.

I'm located in Bloomington Indiana. PM me with your offer and we'll work out the price and details for payment and shipping.

FYI to anyone interested: I prefer to ship via UPS as I have had ZERO problems with them in the past, unlike USPS and FedEx (personal preference).

Thanks for the info on what this is worth. I'm watching a bunch of eBay auctions right now and will decide what to do within a week. In the meantime feel free to ask any questions or make offers.
Thanks!

Instead of wasting time doing that, why don't you just check the completed auctions and their going price? That way, you'll have a feel for pricing over the past few weeks without having to wait?
