No, I'd say $1,100-1,200ish is more accurate. 2.0 ghz CD is an old machine, and yours is a base model. For instance, I bought my 2.16 ghz Core Duo, 2 gb memory, 120 gb hard drive, 256 mb vram for $1,400 last November. They've come down even further since then.

Unfortunately, MacBook pros have been depreciating faster than usual due to the core2duo update. You'd be better off holding on to it.

Looks like I might be picking up a Dual G5.

Why you ask?

Well, the college that I am going to do is very close by and therefore I have no need for a portable machine for a couple of years and I'll have a job so I can just get a laptop as a secondary machine if I really need one.

But why go back to PPC, are you stupid?

Stupid maybe, but there is plenty of life in the Dual 2 G5. The G5's I have been offered are almost maxed out and I think there is some value in them.

I always switch around machines, my friends laugh at me whenever I get a new Mac in my house, they say "Oh, you are selling this one next week aren't you".

I have no problem with switching machines, I am not losing money, all I have to do is re-install a few apps, put my documents in and settle in. I'm not a fan of holding onto a computer for years when I have options to change it up. If it doesn't cost me loads of money, no big deal for me.

The G5 is under apple care for another year or more; not sure on the exact dates... It's basically stock; the last revision prior to the PCI Express; but it does have 8 DIMM slots. I've added a second 160gb drive, and it has both Airport Extreme and Bluetooth. It has just the stock 512mb of ram..
