View Full Version : SOLD! 2.0GHz White C2D MB- Cracked LCD

I have a stock 2.0GHz Core2Duo white MacBook.
1GB RAM (Apple's super slick 2x 512MB). 80GB HDD. SuperDrive.
Purchased in February 2007 from Amazon.
The screen is completely shot-- due to a mishap with feline and human klutziness. Cracked in several places. Backlight still seems to work.
Just curious to see if there's any interest in it since the rest of it seems to be working all right. I don't have the know-how or patience to attempt swapping out the LCD.
Thanks for the offers, but this MB has been SOLD! via Craigslist. If you're wondering for how much, $600. :) Thanks all.

You wouldnt take it for less than $400, would you?Doubtful. :o I have a friend who says he'd be willing to try swapping the LCD for me w/out charging me for labor, but the replacement LCD that I found is already $300.
Not to mention, it'd still be a nice computer to use w/ an external display + KB and mouse. Just that I'm really trying to get away from desktops now. Fell in love w/ the MB.
I'd give you more than US$400 + shipping. Please get back to me. :)I'll reply nowish. :D

I can't vouch for sellers, but the replacement LCD unit seems to be about $220-240 shipped on eBay, D.
Not that I want to frustrate BV's attempts to Macbookatize herself. :D
I don't know if you'll be able to see this search:

Offer underway. BV has warned you, mkrishnan. :D
Actually, yeah, I can see those search results. That is really helpful and a large part of the reason why though hesitant, I posted this thread. I was hoping for some direction. So really, thank you, mkrishnan. You never cease to offer fantastic help and advice.
And yes, BV and I are working on a deal.

Just to keep things completely above board and transparent, I've made an offer to devilot + shipping to London.
However, I've also said that if someone else meets that price and she wants to deal with someone locally or elsewhere in the US without the hassle of shipping to the UK, she's welcome to take it.
I'll leave it up to her to disclose that amount if anyone else is interested.

I might be interested in the US... feel free to PM me what price you're looking to get, and any pics you have of the computer and the screen in particular.
Thanks!

How about a loaded mac mini G4?No thank you. Not really looking for trades. :o
I might be interested in the US... feel free to PM me what price you're looking to get, and any pics you have of the computer and the screen in particular.I must be on crack or something (not literally) but I swore I had already posted this.
I don't have the right adapter to hook the MB up to an external display to check, I appreciate the interest so far and just ask that y'all please be patient as I try to figure it out. (After all, this all just happened yesterday evening :o.)
I can't work my dad's fancy camera, but I did get some photos of screen. Here's hoping the tags will make 'em small enough (I already reduced the image size by over half of their original size.)

I do have the original box, manual, install discs, AC adapter, yes, the stickers, and even the foamy sleeves that Appley machines ship in. The rest of the MB-- the bottom case has slight swirl marks. Again, I'll try to get some photos of the rest of the MB.

I'm waiting for a replacement machine... If all goes as stated on the order form, I should be getting it tomorrow. Which means I'd attempt migrating all the info from the busted MB. Which means I'll soon know if the HDD is busted or not. :)
Thanks for the interest, thus far.

if the replacement machine is a macbook also, why not just swap the drives?!
unless the new machine has a bigger drive i guess... otherwise plug and play, everything is right where you left off.

Just a friendly bump to say that I've regrettably pulled out of this deal as discussed with devilot by email.
These weren't any reasons on her or the machine's behalf, rather my own changing circumstances, which she's been incredibly gracious and forgiving about.
If she's still up for selling it, then please consider this thread and sale still live.

The HDD works w/out a problem. I've already transferred my data onto the replacement machine. I just have to figure out a way to zero out the HDD. :o
Note: I'll be away from MR for the next week. If I don't reply, it's not because I'm a bitch or disinterested in a given offer. ;)

I've changed this from a feeler to a for sale and I've also listed it on Craigslist.

I realize this isn't a feeler, but $650 seems to be a bit much. I will offer you $300. Let me know.
