I'm a cingular customer (my wife and I share an account). last week I went to the Cingular store to see if how close I was to getting my contract renewed(turned out it's not due for renewal to Dec. - I thought it was sooner than that) I also wanted to know because I would like to replace to basic phone I got for free with the contract to a model that would sync my address book, etc. with iSync. The woman at the store was not that helpful however. She went in the back room to find out about any models that would sync with a Mac (should I have said Apple or OSX?) but when she returned she gave a rather condesending answer about not having anything available for a Mac and the tone of her voice when she said "Macs" made it sound like I was wasting her time with some obsure thing or something. I will admit I should have printed off the models Apple supports but when were driving by and in a hurry to get somewhere else. However I was curious if anyone was running into any similiar situations regarding meeting other vendors concerning compatiable devices and come away feeling like they feel like you are wasting their time or something.

It quite unerved me also to see them using windows based computers at their service desks. The other sad thing was they had an info Kiosk in the center of the store for customers to use to look up info, send instant messages, etc. However when I clicked one of the menu options it crashed the computer.

I also saw no mention of OSX or iSync in any of their literature.

We didn't start out with the service being Cingular. At the time it was BellSouth Mobility. I think they merged with Cingular because we can pay our Cingular bill on our regular BellSouth Bill for other phone charges (land line, DSL, etc.)

I tried call the store in question but they never returned my call. I may consider switching when my contract is up. Anyone know a good and Mac friendly cellular service? Is this Cingular store just a fluke?
