I have a complete licensed copy (with registration key) of FCS which I purchased through the upgrade program that Apple offered last year. This is a full set of DVDs with FinalCut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Compressor, QMaster, QAdministrator, and all documentation (also on DVD.) Note: This is the Universal version that was released last year, making it the latest and last version before the "new" FCS was recently released.
My employer just added FCS to our suite of apps, so now that I have it at work, I no longer require a copy for home.
Anyone know what this might be worth?
Thanks,
MD

If you consider that Apple is releasing an update in the next week or so for $500 upgrade price, I would think this could go for $600-700.

Heck, I would be happy with $500 for the set.
Thanks!

I am pretty sure you could sell it for $500 without a problem. I would post it on some of the other video oriented forums like creativecow.net or dvinfo.net

But $1200 is the price of FCS2 new ... why would I even consider buying this used @ $600? @ $700 I would actually be paying more for FCS2 new!
At $500 you would save $100 off the upgrade path. I wouldn't even considerate at anything more than $450. But that's just me. @ $1200 for FCS2 ... a pre-registered version of FCS at $100 savings (from FCS2 upgrade path) isn't that good.
I bet some of the guys on video forums (as previously mentioned) would give you $500.

Also keep in mind, no one says you HAVE to upgrade to FCS2. This version is very solid and for $500 it is a steal all on it's own. I know as I use it in my own work as well.

Of course ... no one had to upgrade from OS9 either. :)
I've been learning Motion 2 ... ans it's pretty wicked. I'd hate to go back to 1, but that's just me. I'll pass on this one, but good luck to MacDann this sell.

This includes Motion 2.
We are not talking about the difference between OS 9 and OS 10. It's more like 10.3 -vs- 10.4.
I am just trying to make sure that the situation is properly represented. $500 for a commercial license of Final Cut Studio is a very good deal. Students even pay more than that.

Definitely see your point ... just providing a valid counterpoint. For those looking to keep FCS and skip version 2 (waiting till at least 3 to upgrade) it can be completely justified and be a good deal in that case.

Yes, it does include Motion 2.
As mentioned, I would be more than happy to get $500 for it - for that I would even ship it for free.
A quick look over on eBay shows the price being in the $600 - $700 range, and a number of those are academic versions, which mine is not.
Thanks to all for the comments and opinions. I'll do some posting on the forums suggested and hope I can get lucky - or maybe a MacRumors member will take it off my hands and save me the trouble...
